You two and Toronto try too hard, but you are funny in your efforts. :)
Too hard? It's been awhile since I had to do more than 5 min of research here. Praetorian/YJ used to have some good number based arguments. It was much preferred than a lot of the emotional appeal based arguments that many make here.

The only two things worse than being a democrat, is being gay, or being a minority. Which is why George Santos doesn't even get an ounce of support.
George Santos doesn’t really deserve any support IMO. He is just one more example of someone who lies to make themself look better in order to achieve their goal. It happens so often, it’s almost impossible to separate fact from fantasy. It isn’t dependent on race, political affiliation, sexual orientation, gender or any other “classification” society assigns to them. I don’t think it will ever change.

Perfect cover for a gay lover!!
Why don't they give us the full story?!? hmmmmmmmm

Serious hopium that some are sucking on to think there is something bigger at play. Like how do they think banks get robbed if they have security and cameras?!? Rand Paul got attacked by his neighbour in broad daylight, yet Nancy Pelosi's house (WHEN SHE WASNT THERE) is supposed to be on pure lockdown mode. One of the best moments of this whole thing was the assurance that the glass was surely coming from the inside. Absolutely brainbroken people that want to believe everything is a conspiracy lmao.

Idk the gay thing was pretty jokes. Or the "why did he call the police?? so calm???" as if the solution to the issue was to actually just blow the guys brains out with a MK47 because an 82 year old man in the middle of the night is John Wayne lmao.
Do you recall the videos I showed showing glass falling on the outside from people hitting it on the outside? 😂 i was told repeatedly that it was unlikely glass would be outside of you hit it from the outside 😂. That video you can see all the glass shards flying in the air 😂.

No? You're misrepresenting that position. I said the majority of the glass would be on the inside. We still don't know. Until I see from a trusted resource like David Duke, Gummy Bear 39552, or Alex Jones I don't think we have the full information. Something is certainly up. I saw on LibsRGay&Stupid.com that Paul Pelosi was running a sex ring (male! Gross!) at a San Fran taco shop, who knows if this is real or not? But certainly something to consider!

I would start but slashing social security or raising the age. There, I solved the debt.

Social security is absurd pyramid scheme — especially considering how fucked saving/asset ownership is for current working generations vs. the system the Boomers had.

We Boomers are a generation of “I got mine, ‘f’ everyone else’, selfish, fat, dinosaurs, who are doing everything to preserve the industries and social structures that made us rich on an exploding debt that was passed on to your generation. Sorry about that.

Don't despair. The good news is us Boomers are at the age where were dropping like flies, so everyone's problems will be fixed soon.

Indeed…..with the exploding obesity and diabetes rates, the population should be thinning out quite efficiently.

Not really. A large portion of Boomers are to a point where they need assisted living. If they have any savings that aren’t protected it will get sucked up to assisted living facility until it’s spent down. Once that happens, it’s off to the nursing home on Medicaid’s dime. I’m no expert but I’ve constantly heard there will soon be more receiving SS than paying into it. Gen X & younger have since learned not to expect anything left for them despite having to pay in even more. Like LAX said…it’s a pyramid scheme in the most basic sense.

Unfortunately the original intent of SS to provide economic security for the elderly has morphed into something quite different. This was to be funded by taxes on workers who would then have this security when they reached retirement age. That is still a major part of SS but it is now comprised of a lot of additional social welfare programs as well (Medicaid, etc.).

I guess I should have used italics.

Maybe there's a study that shows Boomers thought they could get by on just SS, but I don't think that's accurate. There have been pension plans and 401K type plans around as long as I can remember and one of the things I always heard starting back in the 70's was to save for yourself because SS wasn't going to be around by the time we retire. This article hear suggests Boomers aren't to blame.

But it turns out that the earliest beneficiaries, from back when the program was created in the 1930s, were actually the ones who received more money than they paid in.

However, the Center for Retirement Research found the boomer cohort born between 1946 and 1964 will actually have paid more into the system than they will receive in benefits.[/QUOTE}

What an insanely stupid system. Only the earliest beneficiaries received more than what they paid in? Shouldn't that always be the case? Let me take the FICA and invest it.
I've always felt the SS should be handled more on an individual basis. Let the person have access to invest what they put in without being able to withdraw until the proper time.
