Well if you read the graph like I do, you would see that 2.5% inflation was the starting point of the data. In March of 21 it was at 2.6%. Then the jump really happens.

You might want to take another look there. The numbers don't dramatically jump until about January/February of 2021. It's pretty consistent from August-January.
What I’ve learned is that the boom in the markets, stable inflation, and good job numbers post Trump tax cuts were actually because of Obama’s policy.

The uptick in inflation experienced after the consolidated appropriations act (900 bil) and American Rescue Plan (1.9 T) that coincided with our energy policy transition to hurt oil/gas and raise energy prices was likely because of Trump.

The acceleration of the inflation that occurred after 1.2 T more in infrastructure and 1.5 T in executive orders was because of global challenges.

Then, shockingly, another trillion in the Inflation Reduction Act, which was a partisan cash grab, just didn’t seem to quite stop the bleeding. Probably because of Trump and Putin and Abortion bans.

Now, we’re going to have a deeper recession, which will surely be a result of the red wave.

I think I get it now. It’s cycles and dumping insane amounts of cash to dilute the dollar in parallel with failed energy policy doesn’t actually impact inflation. I’m learning.

Also- to stop the recession, rates are on the rise. Welcome to Biden’s recession.

Literally intro to macro economics will enlighten 90% of the posters in here.

Contactionary monetary policy by central banks around the world is literally the easiest and first step to fight inflation. The only excuse to not know this is if you were born after 2009.

Now we know why they redefined what a recession is and why they say we're currently not in a recession.

Well this is simple....if you want the truth about what's REALLY happening in this world watch Fox news.

If you are woke and want to watch a news source who only shows the "narrative" then watch CNN! (80% of what you see here is bullshit. They only show you what they want you to know).

All of the major outlets are slanted one way or another (majority to the left). The trick is to be able to funnel out the BS to get to the truth.

In the words of Lee Corso, "Not so fast my friend." The strong economy under orange man was due to the global economy. The rapid rise in inflation is due to the global economy. Nothing our leaders do have an impact. Might as well just sit back and accept it.

Ok, and why is that? What do you have to support that position. When looking at past economic cycles which one did not have impacts have 10+ years?

Genuinely curious why you have this position, unless it's just to be opposite from me and Biden bad.
At what point does the past stop having an effect or do we blame all of this on George Washington?

"Biden bad"? Have you not seen the news?

Each economic life cycle? Pretty standard stuff.

So, back to my original point, why do you take that position?

I don't need to watch the news, I get the updates here hourly like my own little The View.

Economic life cycle. A quick google says it's 4-10 years. Another says it's roughly 5 1/2 years which kind of says 14 years ago isn't really having a significant impact.

You probably should check the news then. Joe's not been doing anyone any favors.

All I know is that things are escalating quickly. We went from killing the dogs to fight inflation to killing the kid’s quite rapidly. This is a rough cycle.

See? Not all Republicans are racist.
I rather enjoyed the fact he was very specific to the officer at that point. "Porn" would have been sufficient, but interracial porn. Next to a preschool where there were kids present.

That's nice, I have a degree in economics and I can tell you that there are multiple things that lead to that collapse that happened 10-20 years prior to it (which I've already shown). Despite what the shock-jocks in the news will tell you, inflation isn't just a symptom of what happened yesterday.

What is kind of ironic is that you don't want to place any blame on Obama, yet I'm advocating for it lol. Even in the arbitrary 4-10 google search figure, corporate tax cuts in 2018 would certainly fall into that range. Overheating an economy and shrinking your government revenue in an expansionary period is not good practice.

Don’t believe your lying eyes. Things are great and those in power right now are great. You’re racist and fascist if you disagree. Forget about all the things done AS SOON AS BIDEN TOOK OFFICE to undermine the economy. I’m not going to site economic papers written by liberal economists and professors (they’re constantly wrong - transitory and not a recession), but conditions have worsened dramatically under this regime. I’m glad I put my retirement funds into stable income because anyone could see this coming based on the policies. My account is only slightly down, but almost everyone else is losing their shirt right now. I can’t believe how dedicated some are to their leftist beliefs. They’re literally a true believer until the bitter end and when all data shows them to be wrong, the name-calling and insults fly.

For the record I think Trump was a jerk and I don’t want him running, but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t better than this disgraceful sh!tshow.

Of course this is all so far above everyone here. Democrats and leftists are so much more informed on economics than anyone that would dare disagree should be ashamed that they didn’t take advanced economic courses in college. If you don’t agree, you just don’t understand. It’s not your fault, you’re just too simple and ill-informed to agree.

I'm interested in seeing a chart that plots inflation by country for all countries over the last few years.

Can someone find one?

Thanks for proving my point fella
Well, I’m neither a leftist nor a Democrat, so what point did I prove?

You’re a cop. If you had an IQ about room temperature, you wouldn’t be a cop. Nobody should listen to anything you say unless you’ve detained them.

Says the guy who thinks George Wallace was misunderstood.
LOL! If that's what you got out of what I said about Wallace months ago, then you really are as dumb as the rest of us think you are. By all means, keep talking. This will be interesting and fun!
