I don't quite understand what this tweet is saying. Players were supposed to go to tunnel?
Sounds like Kelly told the players to go to the locker room and skip the alma mater. Think he's saying that a loss at home hasn't happened in 2 years, so some players (and apparently Kelly) forgot they still had to sing the alma mater even if you lose.
To me, singing the alma mater win OR LOSS represents one of the greatest things about Notre Dame. We're all part of something bigger than ourselves. If it was Kelly who told the team to head into the locker room afterwards, then I expect a swift apology.
I'm absolutely not kidding when I say I would rather have losing seasons than put up with s*** like this. It's about more than football.
To the people saying that the team shouldn't stay to sing since a bunch of the fans don't seem to care, I understand your point and agree with you to a degree. People leaving early ticks me off more than anything. Usually. But players not staying to acknowledge their FELLOW STUDENTS gets me even more. I understand that a lot of our fan base is flaky. It makes me furious. But the players are students, and we are students. Come show some appreciation for everything that our University stands for. Try not to take the "we" out of we are ND.
