So some buds and I are heading down from Ontario this weekend. We're staying at Double Tree and debating whether or not to cab to the game or drive and have our cooler handy. Two Qs for the experts:

1. How bad would the walk be from the Double Tree?
2. Is the golf course the best place to park of we elect to drive? Is $40 at the golf course the best value for a spot where we can tailgate? Are there any spots where we could Park the car and leave it overnight?

Thanks to anyone with info.

I'd think a post on a UMASS athletics forum would be more useful (if such a thing exists with any meaningful membership).

I've always had good luck with the golf course. You just need to show up reasonably early (~9am) to guarantee a spot.

I usually get to tailgating at 6-7am so the parking is probably different as the morning goes on. But I normally park on the streets acrossed from Eddy street commons. It's free and only a 10-15 minute walk to the stadium area.

more crazy Canucks! Love it! Where are you guys coming from? I will be headed down for the game also. We are in Chatham, Ontario. Joyce lot is always a party, sometimes the white lots also. I have been parking at the innovation centre for past three years and love the scene there, then just a short beer walk through the stadium parking lot to the game.

We're coming down from Waterdown - just outside of Hamilton. How much is the innovation centre, how hard is it to get a spot, and any chance you can leave a car there overnight?

I don't have specific info on the innovation center (you'll need to spell that correctly on this side of the border), but I can't think of any tailgate lots that are ok with anything overnight. They don't even let the RV's stay overnight in the White Lot, which I think is harsh.

I think the time limit is 3 hours after the game before they start giving you a hard time. If you straight up leave the car, chances are it will get towed.

google maps shows it being an hour walk to the stadium. I wouldnt walk that far especially through that area. Its not the baddest neighborhood but there are some rough parts youd walk through. Ive never parked at the golf course but i have a spot i like thats $20 to park. i usually park across the street from the mandarin house in an office lot on edison. dont have to worry about getting parked in and its not huge or hard to get out. if you park further down edison street you can get into a neighborhood for free. I havent taken a cab in forever but if you are planning on doing a lot of drinking then get one, or use uber. There is a lot across from the backer that i know does overnight parking but im not sure if its for friends only (my cousins leave there cars there over night and get them in the morning)

oh and i believe the ND players stay at the double tree. It showed them in it before last weeks game on the showtimes " a season with notre dame". So you might see Kizer taking a late night swim. Tillery ignored me when i saw him outside of eddy street last week so dont expect much talk from him.

I didnt think about it but might want to call the double tree and ask them if they have any shuttle service. Its "thee" hotel in the city so they might offer them because most of the people there will be the for the game.

edit heres a review i found:
One of the best things about this hotel was the excellent shuttle service provided to and from the Notre Dame campus for football games. The shuttle picks up right in front of the hotel and drops off very near the stadium, and we were able to catch the hotel shuttle bus several hours after the game ended in the Eddy Street Commons area following a late dinner.
