I’m not saying he would or would not succeed at ND (or another major program) but as much as the “Row the Boat” excitement can rally a fanbase & players, when he eventually falls short of expectations, the blowback is that much louder. He hasn’t really had to deal w/ that on a national level. I don’t think he’d personally be adversely affected but can you imagine ND fans after losing to a Pitt or Navy and the “Row the Boat” memes start going viral?

If you don't know "Row the Boat" than you have no idea who PJ Fleck is...that has been his tagline since he was at Western Michigan.

Thank you for the clarification. Very few were following Fleck while he was at Western Michigan, that's how an up and comer becomes an up and comer, they gradually ascend the ranks. I don't need to have watched him at Western Michigan to know that he's a better coach than BK, at present time.

He trademarked "Row the Boat" and brought it to Minnesota and continues to use it today. If you've watched him THIS year than you should know the tagline. Minnesota actually had to pay Western Michigan to be able to continue using the tagline

Penn state should have never been number 4 In the first place. They are kinda like us against USC lucky they didn’t get beat. They good but I don’t believe they are overly great though.

I understand the sentiment that Minnesota had not played anyone but it is a joke that ND was ranked ahead of Minnesota. We have played 2 good teams and are 0-2 with 1 blowout loss so how is it worse to have played no one and be undefeated?

Win or lose, they should be above us after this showing but would be shocked to see them move up after a close loss.

Minnesota had to eke out wins against Georgia Southern and South Dakota State. They went to double OT against Fresno State.

That said, they have played better and better as the season has progressed.

I don't think it's arrogance, I think he's just legit got that fire you look for, like Dabo style fire/enthusiasm. I think that's what ND needs at this point, a young motivator to come and get the most out of the guys.
