Dominated Pitt despite not always looking very fluid or easy at times.

I said before against NCSt., it's so nice to watch ND play a top 25 team and just see immediately there's a massive talent gap and we're just better than they are. Under BK against a good Pitt team like this we would have had a modest talent advantage. Today it was massive.

I would have liked to have tried the FG on 4th and a foot. I think the kicking struggles are just entirely mental and simply making a single FG would cure a lot of what ails them.

Narduzzi is one of the most uncouth, classless HCs in the game. Zero self awareness. A total clown who took the biggest game at Pitt in years and their first Gameday appearance in 20 years and first home sellout in 3 years (you're welcome for both) and spent the entire week back tracking his unforced error on Monday. I was never worried about this game being overlooked by ND because I trust Narduzzi to provide reels of bulletin board material.

1-0 2 more times and we're back in and probably hosting. Go Irish.

Within one season I've been moved from wanting Freeman fired for not firing Ash, to praying Ash doesn't go to the NFL so I'm just going to hold my thoughts because I might be a moron.
Happens to the best of us. My reactions after the Aggies game have (thankfully) not aged well.

Pitt looked utterly outclassed
I was very surprised. I thought their D hung in there but ultimately got tired. I'd read going into the game that Fields and Raridon could be matchup problems for them, and it proved to be true.

ND was in control of that game every step of the way. They've gone on the road to Arkansas and Pitt to utterly dominate them. It really is about who you play, when you play and how you play them. ND has been in the driver's seat since halftime of the Purdue game in just about every minute of the season from there on out. They were briefly down against SC and Price took that kick return back. It was a commercial break's worth of pseudo-doubt.

CJ showing some regression but I still have the utmost confidence in him going forward. Malachi Fields growing into that bonafide #1 role is huge. Happy for him. Every week new defenders are showing up. Last week Ausberry. This week Shuler. I also thought Talich played a good game. Chris Ash has really done a great job with this defense. We want coaches that build and grow their teams. He’s done that. Guys are getting better. Fun to watch
Only two f-ups that I remember. The Pick-6 and the near turnover at the end of the first half. He should never have been in the 2nd situation.

Real Talk:

The defense was outstanding today OUTSIDE of making tackles on the Pitt QB. We brought pressure and got home, the DBs were phenomenal. Ash has his unit playing at as high a level, if not a higher level, than Golden. Which NONE of us thought possible.

Worst part about this game is we don't get a chance to see Freeman beat their ass even worse next time until 2028

Can you imagine being a Pitt player celebrating that touchdown at the end?

What a fucking sad existence.

Analyzing a program like Pitt should lead to absolute nihilism regarding the state of human affairs.

Good thing we are all Irish, baby!

Happy for the win, but Someone needs to tell Denbrock it’s okay to go under center and RTDB on 4th and half a yard.
Is there any evidence they actually practice this? I realize that's a concern in itself, but if they don't practice it, I don't have a whole lot of interest in seeing them try it in live game action.
