It's easy for naysayers to point the fingers and make negatory comments. Know what's not easy? Staying positive and sticking up for your team even if it has hit "rock bottom." I will say the Notre Dame Football program has hit an all-time low to this point but that absolutely does not mean it won't get better. I have to believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The problems affecting the Irish right now are a lot deeper than just the dude wearing a headset calling the shots. A football team is exactly that, A Team. So to put the blame on one single individual is just an easy way to explain the problem. Personally, I look at the entire scope of the situation and I have confidence in my Irish. I will continue to put all my faith and passion for Notre Dame Football in the hands of Brian Kelly, because I still believe he is the man we need. I don't care what anybody has to say about his play calling.
Has Brian Kelly made some questionable calls? Absolutely. But what coach hasn't? If your a football fan, you remember the infamous "4th and 2" play that caused so much buzz around the sports world. I loath Bill Belichick with every fiber in my body but even I can't deny the fact that he is one of the best NFL Coaches in recent history. 3 rings in the last 10 years, 2 NFL Coach of the Year, a .632 winning percentage. In other words, Brian Kelly has had no time to prove what he can do. He has every right to be ****y because his offense produces. I know what everyone is thinking, Produces what? Obviously it has only shown a few bright spots this year, but I'm talking about historically, Brian Kelly has produced high octane, very potent offenses. His 2009 Bearcats team ranked in the top 10 in numerous offensive categories.
All I'm saying is chill out people, he's human. I'm just as frustrated as the next Irish fan but I never, ever lose hope. I never give up on my team. I won't. And as long as Brian Kelly is giving all he has and putting his heart and soul into coaching my team, I won't give up on him either.
