I'm going to pull for Florida to win that game, if that is in fact the match up. Oklahoma doesn't deserve to be there, they didn't deserve to play last night. I'm still in awe that a team can beat another on a neutral site by 10 friggin points and the loser gets the advantage??
They claim a playoff would ruin the importance of the regular season, well apparently, the regular season already means nothing if the loser of a head to head match up gets the rewards instead of the winner....it's a head scratcher...

Texas Tech got absolutely undressed and beat with a sledge hammer. Thats why Tech is not in the discussion. As for the playoffs, I think if they want a true NC then they are needed. If not go back to the old bowl systems and don't play 1 vs 2 anymore.
The Giants winning the superbowl last year was clearly not a fluke..
Besides if #1 wins all the time, it kind of takes the excitement out of it.
I think OU is going to fist hump Florida.
Actually the Cotton Bowl is closer to Norman than Austin. I have been to a game there and it's pretty much 50-50. The only time that the attendance is one-sided is when one school has a team that isn't very good. It was definitely a neutral site game. Texas got screwed ....they should have been in the Big12 title gameWell everyone can call Dallas a neutral site, but a texas team playing in texas is more or less a home game. And I believe Demarco Murray was out in that game against texas. OU has a better defense than Texas and has more offensive weapons. Who's better between Bradford and McCoy, well that's a toss up. I think this will be a great game and I think it's the correct match up for this season.
I think the Gators will win this one. Their defense will be the difference. I don't think OU has faced a defense w so many good athletes

Having a playoff for college football would suck massively. As pointed out, it would devalue the regular season schedule and games because the "hot" team at the end of the year would go through the playoffs on luck or momentum. It's better to have someone in the title game because of their body of work. Plus, having a playoff totally destroys the rabid "every game counts" mentality and outlook in CFB. With a playoff, we'd become just like college basketball...a sport nobody really watches religiously until March. Screw that. Sure, not every game on every schedule is a "playoff" game (as is the big proponent of the "every week is a playoff for us" theory in CFB). But, not every game in the March tourney is either. Unless they break up the 119 FBS teams into smaller divisions, there will always be cupcakes and powerhouses.
CFB enjoys the best regular season of any sport. Look at the NFL. Parity has been implemented so much so that even 8-8 teams make the playoffs some years. Yay! Congrats on going .500. (I know...we're .500 too but I don't think we should be going to a bowl either. Difference is, were playing in the Hawaii bowl and not vying for the NC in a playoff race.) That having been said, the computers chose correctly. So what if Texas beat OU? Texas also got beat by Texas Tech and OU pasted TT. If OU and Texas played today, even in Austin, Texas would get smoked. Florida is going to get smoked in the title game too. OU is stronger than all right now.
or like USC's.I don't think that anyone in the Big 12 faced a DEFENSE all year, let alone a defense like Florida's.
