This explanation is laughable.
"Well It's possible something happens to some kids, so what's the big deal?"
Let's pump the brakes on the Ohio State 'oversigning' panic - Land-Grant Holy Land
If someone could Provide proof of this, I'd appreciate it so I can go to war with my coworkers.
One of Ohio State's Class of 2015 who was an early enrollee is off the team
Jamel Dean Leaving Ohio State
"While the Ohio State doctors have not cleared Dean, sources at Cocoa tell Bucknuts that the defensive back has indeed been cleared by external doctors
(including Dr. James Andrews) and that they believe he will be able to play college football."
High school coach of Ohio State football freshman Jamel Dean says Dean is being pushed off team
"It's ridiculous," John Wilkinson told Northeast Ohio Media Group on Wednesday. "It's totally wrong to do this to an 18-year-old kid who should be in high school, who you talked into coming up there early.
"You can't treat people this way."
"I go on a kid-by-kid basis, and this is about Jamel, it's not about the other kids," Wilkinson said. "It's about taking care of a kid who was committed to you for 18 months, and you're pushing him out before he even got an opportunity. He didn't get a chance to do anything."

Cardale Jones, JT Barrett conversation
Cardale Jones, JT Barrett conversation - ESPN Video
Tom Rinaldi: "There's a coaching cliche that says if you have two quarterbacks, you really have none. What's your take on that Cardale?"
Cardale Jones: "I feel sorry for Notre Dame."
Figured this was the best place for this since we don't have a real tOSU thread:
The comment was made in jest, but the Buckeye websites are having a laugh with that.
However, I can see now that Cardale didn't come to play school, because 3 > 2
How many of OSUs, MSUs and Georgia's players are 5th year seniors?
Meyer, like any top-tier coach, is not exempt from processing guys for medical or other reasons in order to free up spots so he can sign a bigger class in February. The 85 limit hamstrings coaches and programs that wish to compete each year at the highest level and win national titles, which is expected at Ohio State.
Meyer probably won't speak to the media again until National Signing Day but it will be interesting to see which players the Buckeyes say are done playing for medical reasons, academic reasons, a transfer or something else entirely. Programs must be at the 85 limit by the time Autumn Semester classes begin or practice for that season opens, whichever comes first. For 2017, Ohio State opens classes this fall on Aug. 22. Camp will start earlier than that because the first game is Aug. 31 at Indiana.
Meyer and his staff are set to hit the road recruiting on Jan. 12 when the dead period comes to a close. There is a ton of talent still available on the market and Ohio State is expected to raise that number of commitments from 17 to somewhere in the low to mid-20s starting as early as this weekend with the U.S. Army All-American Bowl scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Targets Jeffrey Okudah, Darnay Holmes and Bubba Bolden are all set to announce their college plans at some point during the game.
As a result, Ohio State is at 88 scholarships.
The Buckeyes want another defensive tackle in the class, are flirting with the idea of adding another running back and hope to bring in a couple more players at other positions before it is all said and done. For example, Jay Tufele (DT), Thayer Munford (OT) and Marvin Wilson (DT) are three players Ohio State continues to recruit.
Wow wow wow...smh
Notre Dame is playing this game all wrong.

"Processing guys" is just a nice way of saying "Fuck you, get off my team." "Hey, you're not elite enough for us, even though we promised you 4 years if you'd commit. How about you take a hike, I've got fresh blood to bring in." Screw that. I'm glad we offer full 4 year scholarships. The medicals we have offered in the past have been fairly consistent I think, given to players that have had repeated injuries...and a few of those still end up staying on the team like Baratti. The way some schools treat recruiting is like a meat market, and it's disgraceful."Meyer, like any top-tier coach, is not exempt from processing guys for medical or other reasons in order to free up spots so he can sign a bigger class in February."
OHSAA Associate Commissioner Deborah Moore ruled Munford was ineligible to play at Massillon on Aug. 11 after she deemed he was recruited based on Bylaw 4-9-4, No. 8. That bylaw states a coach can not have any contact with a student-athlete at his former school after taking another job.
(Nate) Moore was the coach at La Salle prior to coming to Massillon in 2015. Munford played on La Salle’s 2014 and 2015 teams that won Division II state titles, and then moved to Massillon when the Moore’s (sic) became his legal guardians.
Nate Moore coached Munford as a sophomore in 2014 when La Salle beat Nordonia in the Division II state title game. Moore moved to Massillon in 2015 while Munford stayed at La Salle and helped his team beat Perry in the 2015 Division II state title game.
Munford, who is 6-foot-6 and 322-pounds, has college scholarship offers from Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, Cincinnati, Indiana, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Iowa State, Miami [OH], Pittsburgh, Memphis, Maryland, Central Florida, Temple, Purdue, Rutgers, Louisville, Penn State and West Virginia.
The NCAA mandates that programs must be down to 85 scholarship players on their roster by the time the first day of classes or fall camp rolls around. And with just 10 seniors on this year’s scholarship grid, Ohio State will be well over the limit in 2019 if it signs another full recruiting class.
The Buckeyes already hold nine commitments this cycle, and have yet to land a quarterback or fully address concerns at wide receiver and along the offensive line. That means every new pledge following the next commitment will have to be met with an early departure for the National Football League, unforeseen transfer or medical hardship.
“We're trying to fill a roster that I can't tell you who's leaving, who's coming,” head coach Urban Meyer said during the Early Signing Period in December, illustrating how recently enacted NCAA rules only accelerate and make the roster management process more difficult. “I have some ideas, and there's been preliminary talk, but certainly you talk about life-changing decisions for those guys and life-changing decisions for young people.
“What happens if you oversign and a young man doesn't decide to go to the NFL when he told you he was? That's his right. You can't hold that against him,” he continued. “What I've had happen to me is, I’ve talked to several players, and my answer to them — because we're straightforward with them — is that I don't know if I have a scholarship right now because I don't know who's leaving for the NFL Draft.”
