Holtz won a NC in 3 years with that nucleus and he did it without JUCOs. Check the Oregon roster. Auburn's roster. Alabama's roster.

Like I said, I wasn't even born yet. What's your point though? Since there's an exception (Holtz) it then makes sense that Kelly is 13-8 at this point with a talented team? I think he's the guy, but I also thought we'd be better than about .500 against decent teams and have beaten at least one good team by now in year two.

Do you forget we've beaten the #15 ranked team in both of his first seasons now? I'd say that's pretty decent...and yes,MSU is a good team this year.
