You just quoted three people who have been banging the Miami drum for weeks, even as the committee has stated we were compared and deemed better. Don’t listen to them, they are driving clicks and engagement and nothing else.
My point still stands that those and others will continue to do this and the final score against Stanford will be another Bullet point for them two post for another 8 days. Don’t think the committee is not paying attention to these media personalities because they are and have moved up Miami 6 spots the past few weeks to get in striking distance to overtake ND.

Miami has moved up because they’ve won and other teams in front of them lost, not because of some grand conspiracy what are we even doing here.

Yeah because they've won their games since the rankings began

Honestly, Miami should be in. It’s the parade of SEC schools that’s dumb. But they’re coming in, so it all sucks.
I said that earlier. Notre Dame and Miami both deserve to be in as I believe they are two of the best 12 teams in the country. Yet you are giving a spot to a G5 team that is subpar and should not be in with multiple loses. Add in a subpar ACC champ who if they played Miami would get jail sexed. And like you mentioned the parade of SEC teams two of which Oklahoma and Alabama don’t deserve to be in but get the nod because it’s the SEC

I'm so sick of the "no conference" argument from everyone.
Does anyone think 8 games vs bottom feeder Big Ten teams would keep us out of the playoff?
We already travel everywhere.

I hope you guys are right and I’m overreacting. I should probably NOT go on Twitter (X) this week because all I’ll see is these national sports writers comparing the final scores of ND and Miami common opponents.

I’ll say it one last time. Miami and Notre Dame are 2 of the best 12 teams in the country and it’s a damn shame that one or both teams will be left out the CFP!

Calm down. The people you keep bringing up don't matter and probably don't even watch the games.

I just said the same thing! Haven’t seen SC in years and thought I was having a stroke. Covering WWE like it’s a real sport in between coverage of actual sports??
ESPN/Disney paid a lot of money to get WWE PLE events, they have to promote WWE as much as possible to get their ROI

The roughing the passer call in the auburn alabama game was atrocious Will the committee see that.

you positive?
Ole Miss, A&M, Georgia…yes, as close to 100% as I can while allowing for black swan events like the heat death of the universe.

Same with Alabama if they win the CCG.

Oklahoma I can see the argument against but at this point I’ve got decades of evidence suggesting that SEC teams will get the benefit of the doubt so, yeah, let’s call it 80% they’re in too.

Nice. Shall google.

I really think non-SEC people can see through their BS at this point. It is nowhere near as good as it was 5 or 10 years ago. Bama and Georgia are clearly very beatable. Propped up still by Saban.

"Sportswriters around the country" is apparently the same handful of dorks who have been whining about it for weeks and it hasn't changed a thing.
Sigh, hate to even take the bait, but even if people based rankings off of scores in this manner, isn't it easier if you play a team second so you know how many points you have to score?

Is it? I think it’s fair to not like that we have a system where coaches have an apparent incentive to score garbage time TDs while respecting that coaches faced with that system have to play the hand they’re dealt.
Respect is generally tied to character. If he doesn’t like what Marcus Freeman is “forced” to do in that situation due to the system, how can he respect him doing it? Respect would be given if Freeman went against the system and stood on some kind of principles and didnt try and run up the score because of the supposed faulty system he was forced into.

I don’t necessarily agree with the commentators view in general. That somehow it is a broken system where style points matter.

Buy saying a system is somehow ethically wrong, which is what he was saying, and then respecting a coach for going along with that system, makes no sense logically

“I don’t like it, but I understand it” would have been a better way to say it. “Respect it” just doesn’t sit well when speaking about an ethical issue.

You guys are nuts if you think they’re gonna punish us for winning by 29. It only matters in so far as a comparison to Miami. BYU and Bama are still in between us.

OU and Alabama looked like shit this weekend. I think we have a real argument for eight, but I doubt they move us up.
Score and game flow are two different things. One was essentially equal, one was not.

I just want Bevacqua et. al. to have serious conversations about ending the Stanford series. Playing football at 2 am eastern can never be allowed. It’s a net negative, there is no benefit to playing this game if ESPN or whomever is willing to put the game in that window. Stanford adds nothing, and never has. End it today.
