We have some coaching issues as well., clearlyWe suck because Pyne sucks. Simple as that.

Agree. He was poised , stayed in the pocket as long as possible and made some tight throwsPyne was 23/26 for 300+ yards. One of his best games if not for the turnovers.

Get Drake Maye to South Bend!Caleb Williams on this team and ND laughs their way to 12-0 even against what was a ridiculous schedule. Is what it is. The difference in the game ended up being two Drew Pyne mistakes (he played well overall given his limitations).
ND is hard capped until they figure out how to pay for a top tier QB.
Speaking of Joseph I was disappointed with his play this season. I was expecting more, obviously not Kyle Hamilton type play, but more than he produced…Joseph needs to return to ND and make some money for himself on 2023.Brandon Joseph was the top safety in the portal. Georgia talked to him. Stop trying to make ND apologize for taking NFL players. I won’t.

Interestingly, the Irish illustrated podcast has basically said there is little chance he returns. I think he came in expecting only one year and then off to the prosSpeaking of Joseph I was disappointed with his play this season. My uncle would be my aunt if not for his balls.Pyne was 23/26 for 300+ yards. One of his best games if not for the turnovers.
I’d take Pete Skoronski…You literally just proved my point. Good thing he went to Northwestern. Maybe we can start getting their grad transfers at qb.
It’s a testament to Drew as a QB that he put out that stat line and you can put a lot of the blame for this loss on him.Pyne was 23/26 for 300+ yards. One of his best games if not for the turnovers.
There we go…speaking the truth. To bad Notre Dame is holier than thou and would never ever allow a big name transfer…especially and under grad night name transfer…and especially not more than 1…and no where near 19USC went out and poached their QB, half their WR’s and their top RB if ND wants to compete with the big boys Mendoza needs to open his pocket books

Caleb Williams tonight was playing how I play NCAA13. Run backwards and roll to the right or left, if the player is open I throw it and if not I keep it. Plain and simple. It beats Bama when I play with Akron and it beat us tonight.

You're asking a guy in a run heavy offense to throw most of the game. He went 23/26 for 300+ with one INT. We shouldn't have been asking him to throw that much, we needed a few more stops from our defense so we could run our backs. The turnover sucked, but we had only 1 stop all game that wasn't aided by the refs finally calling holding halfway through the 4th quarter. Giving up 38 points wasn't going to cut it. If our defense got just a few stops we're running the ball and the turnovers never happen. My uncle would be my aunt if not for his balls.

Here is a little secret, ND doesn't want to compete with the big boys.
Never understood that mentality from the board when the University literally exists as it is now because of the football team. Here is a little secret, ND doesn't want to compete with the big boys.
ND gets the best available safety when they needed a safety but that doesn’t count as wanting to compete
Compare that to the firepower SC got…
yup. He & Cam Hart are both goneInterestingly, the Irish illustrated podcast has basically said there is little chance he returns. I think he came in expecting only one year and then off to the pros
May have been true 30 years ago but it’s not necessarily the case now.Never understood that mentality from the board when the University literally exists as it is now because of the football team.
Take that away and they are just another 1 of 100's of Catholic colleges.
They got Caleb Williams. We didn’t. The other transfers mean nothing. That has nothing to do with the ND administration not letting him in. He followed the coach he wanted to play for for years.
Caleb Williams isn’t wearing a Trojan jersey because ND didn’t allow him admittance to the university.

Loading the cupboards with top talent from every possible channel—that’s what ND admin will never allow.
Tough to agree that the other transfers didn’t matter when several of them made big plays tonight.
Who is the QB the ND admin didn’t allow?!? Who?
You can’t just keep repeating this without anybody this applies to.
It doesn't make sense, but it's not a lie. We handcuff ourselves when big football factories will take anyone the NCAA says is okay. Swarbrick has said in the past that if the NCAA split into a "Pro" league and an "Academic" league that ND would absolutely stick with the Academic crowd. Sucks for the football fans, but it's fact. I don't like it anymore than the next guy. We're always going to come up a little short against the big boys because we do the right things like honoring scholarships and caring about academics. We'll get upsets, but you can't expect dominance when you're playing with self imposed restrictions.Never understood that mentality from the board when the University literally exists as it is now because of the football team.

Not just one QB—all of the rules of undergrad transfers, NIL upfront, etc. They’re handcuffs that just don’t translate to this era.
IF that happens, ND dies a slow death. ND is the nerdiest jock school. A religious school in the middle of nowhere, cold as fuck midwest will not be able to live on its academic reputation alone. It will fall back in the rankings, lose applications, and eventually lose general interest. There is little doubt it will survive if just because of the absurd endowment, but the goal that so many have been aiming for would be completely out of reach and drifting further away.It doesn't make sense, but it's not a lie.
