I had a convo about this with a Pitt fan this week, exact same answer. They dont see any path forward of consistently competing against the regional blue bloods for talent. So they are left with the hope of a once a decade flash in the pan year. Since he did that with Kenny Pickett, they think he could do it again. Not will, but could. And that is okay with them.
