It's official. ND will play Purdue at Lucas Oil Stadium next year. After that game, they won't play again until 2020.

I'm down.

Also read that Purdue gets 10,000 tickets for this. None of this made sense at first, since LOS doesn't have the same seating capacity as ND Stadium. This has to be a goodwill gesture for Purdue letting us out of the contract for a while.

If memory serves me correctly, the last time the Irish played in Indy, it was the first game for the Hoosier Dome. I remember sitting at the very top in the end zone and watched Purdue run screen after screen upsetting our beloved Irish 23-21.

I'm pumped for this, I will definitely be going.
Too bad the BudLight Zone will be closed :(

I noticed that too, that would be my take. I like the move and this is a great jester by ND to Purdue, it's just the right thing to do.

Why would it be closed?

Good question. There's a no alcohol policy at Notre Dame stadium, but does that necessarily translate to Lucas Oil Stadium? I know from a policy point of view the administration would probably want to carry that policy over, but agreements for venues are often a different animal (concessions, other factors in rider/contract, etc).

I could see that one going either way, honestly.

They sold alcohol at Soldier Field. Believe me, I know.

So how do tix work for neutral site games? Will they have a general sale to the public or will they all go to season ticket holders (excepting the Purdue allotment)?

I know Jimmy gets a huge portion of all vending sales at LOS regardless of whether it is a Colts game or monster trucks. If he has his way, he'll want 60,000+ drunk Irish filling the seats! lol

I'm pretty sure they will be selling alcohol at this game. I've never been to a Lucas Oil event where they didn't.

Speaking of ol Jimmy Irsay, my son and I went to the game this past weekend vs Houston and at halftime he did the introduction into the ring of honor for Faulk and Dickerson. Seeing him on the jumbotron, I'm not sure he will make it to this game next year. Sadly, the Dude looks like a dying terminal cancer patient.

He's drunk more often than not, sadly. Then he gets on twitter....

I didn't think even the stadiums could sell alcohol at college games.

The only reason i say this was when the vikings were playing at that stadium didn't they have to with for that game?

Lets do it, ill create an irish envy flag that can be flown through out the tailgating lot

I'll be the one carrying the 'Free Pat' flag and chanting 'We are slow, Longo must go' (I want to add in Greg Bryant joke here, but I have to refrain).

Look for me.

Uh, yeah...it's a business, all about the dolla dolla bill. I know for a fact the B1G championship game has beer.

If they don't serve at this game I'll give up all the vbucks that I do not have. :)

I didn't go this year, but they did NOT sell beer at the first two B1G championship games.

Feel like this awesome for those in Indiana. Pretty lame for everyone else haha.

I'd rather have them play Purdue in TX or CA despite how redundant it might be to have two Indy teams play there.
