Kind of crazy to see Faison already work his way onto the 1s line, but I like what the coaches are thinking there. You have a big lefty outside shooter and physical presence in Dobson who will always draw the pole because he's an All-American. Then you have the transfer (McLane) who is an experienced righty scorer with decent range and the ability to create against poles as well because he's a natural attack.

So then you add super shifty Faison to that group and he's going to draw a lot of slides because very few teams have a #2 SSDM that can match feet with a guy that most CBs in college football can't match feet with. That means he can either be a party starter for you and get the opposing defense rotating... or be a guy who is going to cook his defender in space if they have to overplay one of the All-Americans ND has elsewhere and you get a dodge on the backside. He's a really good complimentary piece to what they've got.

What's hilarious to me though is that Faison really does look "small" even on the lacrosse field. Excited to see the gains he makes in the weight room this offseason.

Awesome! I feel like they’ve been waiting for a signature win the last couple years. They finally got one! Congrats ladies!
the guys calling the game said a few of the main stars of this team were freshmen the year they started 7-0 before covid shut things down and said that they felt they were a contender that season and wanted to come back for unfinished business.

irish men play Sunday afternoon on youtube against Marquette at 2 pm and the women who should be top 5 in the polls on Monday play at home against Butler at 1 pm on ACCNX. could we have two irish teams possibly playing in the month of May for a title.

Marquette isn’t a bad team, but the real tests start now. 9 straight games against ranked or quality opponents. Regardless how those shake out ND is well positioned to make another run at a ring.

That’s gonna be a 2-3 minute penalty on Kavanagh which is so dumb because the dude fell over into the check.

I agree about being humbled. A really bad performance, hopefully they learn from it.

That was probably the worst ND defense I’ve seen in years. Just terrible leaving shorties on an island all game when that was the entire Georgetown offense. Total refusal to slide, no team defense.

Does this mean their O and D both suck and recruiting has come to a grinding halt?
Certainly not due to talent drying up. In fact, 17 of the 23 guys who played in the final four are back and we have 10 fifth or sixth year seniors on the team.

Was this the first game outdoors?
Yes. And Gtown had three under their belt. But they were 1-2. With the schedule we play we have to play better or it could get ugly.
Gtown ran down the shot clock on every possession. Defenders lost focus or got tired because almost every goal was after a long possession. Have to expect others will follow that game plan.

Trying to get back on track - up 10-5 against Maryland.

10th goal was scored by Faison with the ND football team in attendance.
