I like the guy. He’s a good coach. Let it blossom let it grow for his recruiting.

Leonard couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn for the first four games. You ain’t putting that evil on my boy Mike.

The word from ISD is that he puts effort into recruiting but he's just not good at it.

Tbf we aren’t giving him much to sell. We haven’t had an elite WR since Fuller and we are always run heavy. We haven’t had a QB throw for 3,200 yards since Rees in 2013.

I don't disagree, but Chansi landed 6 blue-chip WR's in 2 classes at ND. He had no problem landing blue-chip WR's.
How many of those dudes are still on the roster and or contributed meaningful reps?

Pretty sure the best of that bunch is an All American safety. Lol.

Good blocking, not many drops throughout the year. WR’s aren’t gonna be the focal point of our O this year with Riley getting happy feet and running unless a guy is very open.

Chansi also couldn’t get his guys off the LOS
I agree, but my point was he had no problem landing blue-chip WR’s despite a lack of a passing game. He could recruit, he just couldn’t develop and coach them.

Agreed. Which is all the more reason why we need a guy who is actually good at recruiting.

I think Freeman's vision for the offense will always have more running than most teams in college football. Even if you are a good recruiter, you can't sell them a false vision of what will happen once they get on campus. That will only lead to unhappy players and eventual transfers. WR's at ND will likely get fewer touches and fewer yards than most other teams out there, even when we get a better passer playing the QB position.
