didnt see your McElroy reference up there, you beat me to that one. couldnt agree more with you
exactly, i forget who said it, but when dayne threw an INT in the emdzone he got scared to make a mistake, when tommy did the same thing (although it was more TJs fault) he maintained his cool. i like the term game manager, we dont need a superstar, just a confident, accurate, smart qb who is cool under pressure. let our D win the ballgames. we just need tommy to be consistant. Greg Mclroy wasnt Cam Newton at Bama during 09, but he was accurate and consistant, thats all we need this year
Was he unflappable in the USC game last year when he threw 4 pics?
No one is bashing Rees, he is not you're prototypical Qb. Does that mean anything? No. He is a distributor reliant on short passes and yards after catch. It's a different playbook with Rees in the game. That's all I'm saying.
Now saying after saying all that, he could be just the thing we need
I can remember 5 throws by Rees where he threw the ball 15-20 yards down the field:
- The beautiful throw to Riddick that went for ~25 yards
- 2 throws to a wide open Riddick (dropped both)
- 2 throws to Eifert down the seam

soooo much denial in this thread.
Crist did not have a good opening drive. he did not look great. he hit a screen pass to cierre and a slant to floyd. again, what games are you watching? not Notre Dame clearly.
he's not good until adversity. he's never good. he's never been good. you people are literally delusional. what happens is you see a male model under center and think "how could this possibly go wrong.
when i see Crist under center i think "how can this possibly go right."
I'm the only Hendrix person. Go Hendrix!
I didn't think Rees was great. He had some horrible passes in easy situations and got most of his yards on that last drive against a prevent D.

I was all Crist prior to Saturday's game. And while I am apparently just one of those "delusional" people, I don't think he played all that bad. I'm not saying he had a solid half or anything, but I don't think he his horrible. That being said, when Rees came in i was a little uneasy. I didn't think he had the skillset to move an offense the way he did. He was throwing darts in zone coverage, lofting long balls in man, and made good read after good read. I only noticed two poor passes (could have been more). But the first one TJ went up and got it bailing Rees out. The second was in the dirt on a curl route on the far side of the field. His demeanor after this throw was that of a confident, composed QB. He immediately turned to the sideline to get the call for the next play. Rees had an excellent half of football. I am hoping he is our starter
Don't forget the Alamo! I'm a Hendrix guy!
I would love to see him get some snaps, even if just in goal line situations, at the Big House. Save Golson a year of eligibility and keep him OUT of the games this year since he seems to be the one the coaches have set to be the QB of the future. Hendrix will have something to say about that methinks....

yea send a guy with no game experience into the big house in the first ever night game in michigan history!
i would say yeah you are the only hendrix guy. lol
I was a full on Crist supporter all offseason...beyond the first drive Dayne wasn't good.
Rees made a believer out of me for sure. He's gotta be the guy to take the start.
