It's seems the like players are winning IN SPITE of the coaching at times. I love Verducci though.

why is anybody happy? We barely beat a team that lost to Northern Illinois.

We're a few plays away from being 1-3 right now.

We have absolutely no chance to compete against any of the better teams in the country.

Why am I happy? We're 3-1. Not 1-3.

And to use your logic, how great it is,

South Carolina wouldn't have beaten Ole Mis.
LSU sucks because they barely beat Miss.
Oregon shouldn't have beaten Cal.
PSU wouldn't have lost to Iowa.
USF wouldn't have beat FSU.
U$C wouldn't have lost to Washington.
OK St. wouldn't have lost to Houston.
Etc... etc... etc...

Long story short... any given Saturday. Hell, the Giants could never beat the 18-0 Pats, could they? The Americans can beat the Russians in a hockey game?

Stop being negative. Enjoy the win.

DID ANYONE HEAR? TEBOW WAS INJURED. Thanks BSPN. I'd rather have those announcers over the NBC losers anyday though.

ND clearly played poorly in the 3rd quarter again. Yes they won and the stars were out but this game should not have been that close.

With that said though a win is a win is a win.

Tired of the defensive lapses. Sickening. Hopefully a WR begins to emerge besides Tate...

Washington is up next.

I enjoy the win -- it goes into the record books as a win regardless of the quality of opponent. But nothing that has happened since the Nevada game has proven that this team can beat any of the better teams in the country.

I had such high hopes for this team. It's a shame that we need lucky plays to beat rebuilding and mid major programs.

yer high.

Maybe. But let's puts it all into perspective. 12-0 or 11-1 is not realistic expectations for about 98% of the programs out there. But some think a program who just went 3-9 and 7-6 shoud expect that. Play them one at a time and lets see what happens at the end.

Incompletion, piss poor gameplan. Touchdown Rudolph, gutty win.

For all the shit I have given Clausen over time, he is top 5 Heisman THIS YEAR if you ask me. That drive and some of those throws were amazing. Pure guts. He passes Keenum, Clark, and Best this week if logic were to prevail. It won't.

Let's knock off the Puppies in our house and get healed up for the Condoms.

Go Irish!

Brown... please respond to what I said above... I think you just glossed over it to try and prove your point.

Sorry Wabash.. Other than pulling out another victory from the jaws of defeat, wasn't much to smile about. ND shouldn't need to win like this.
I have been a huge CW supporter. I honestly have the opinion that he can recruit and like that fact that he is a ND alumnus, but I now question his game time coaching ability. Hope he "eventually" proves me wrong.

Javid Best and Jacory Harris get dunked from Heisman contention. Clausen moves up big time in my opinion. Hurt, on the road, lead your team to the win.

The only time i questioned Weis this whole game was i wish he would have let Dayne throw on 3rd doen, A screen or play action or something but other than that what else can you ask for when you starting RB QB and WR are out.

we've stockpiled so much talent at WR, QB, and RB, all which have experience as well. We should easily be able to move the ball with those guys out of the game.

Bro its like your high school GF who doesn't put out.. She promises and promises that prom night will be the night, then you get absolutely denied.
These are the teams ND needs to beat handily. Nevada, WSU, Navy, Washington, BC, MSU, Stanford, UConn and Purdue. Pitt, UM and USC should be winnable.

i would say under normal circumstances, i.e. floyd and allen and a healthy jc, ND wins 35-10. however, they were behind the 8 ball and found a way to get it done. i admit, i counted them out, but i felt like charlie could've helped in certain ways last night. when your team is banged up, i feel you have to play % football and field position football. i was so angry at the 4th down calls and felt we should've attempted the FG in the first quarter and then pooched the ball deep into purdue territory later in the game. oh well, we came out with a win, but charlie's decision making almost cost this team again. i bet charlie was honking on jc's crank in the handicapped stall last night.

Midseason review: Purdue
October 20, 2009 Posted by ESPN.com's Adam Rittenberg

Purdue Boilermakers Record: 2-5 (1-2 Big Ten)
2509.gif

The tone of this review is much different than it would have been a week ago, before Purdue's huge victory against Ohio State. Regardless of how the second half goes, Purdue owns a signature win and its first triumph against a ranked opponent since 2003. The Ohio State game also proved that Purdue is a better team than its record indicates. The Boilers outplayed Oregon in Eugene, had Notre Dame on the ropes and built a 21-3 lead against Northwestern, but they dropped all three games. Purdue has four losses by a combined 18 points and could easily have a winning record. Turnovers are the Boilers' Achilles' heel, as they rank 119th nationally with 23. The giveaways have overshadowed strong offensive performances by quarterback Joey Elliott, wide receiver Keith Smith and others. The defense has made steady progress and received a huge performance from end Ryan Kerrigan against Ohio State. If Purdue can build on the Ohio State win and continue to make strides, it could be a dangerous team down the stretch.

Offensive MVP, QB Joey Elliott: After three seasons as Curtis Painter's backup, Elliott has made the most of his lone season as the starter. He leads the Big Ten in passing (265.1 ypg), total offense (287.7 ypg) and touchdown passes (14). Elliott also has done a great job as a co-captain, keeping team morale high despite so many near misses. Honorable mentions go to wide receivers Keith Smith and Aaron Valentin and running back Ralph Bolden.

Defensive MVP, LB Jason Werner: Werner has finally stayed healthy and showed why he can be one of the league's best linebackers. The senior ranks second in the league and fifth nationally in tackles for loss (14), a total that includes four sacks. Werner leads Purdue with 55 tackles and has an interception and a forced fumble. Honorable mentions go to Kerrigan, cornerback Brandon King and defensive tackle Mike Neal.
