I think you are forgetting who they line up against every day, the best offense in CFB history. That is like saying that the 2001 Canes were overrated on defense when their defense was having to defend one of the greatest offenses in CFB history every day.

I think people are underselling the importance of on-field experience. It breeds depth and allows you to develop people on the other side of the ball.

I never said Bama had an elite NFL defense, but they have NFL talent all throughout their roster, not just on the offensive side of the ball.

Nd-Bama was the closest cfp game this year. All the people who think expanding to 6 or 8 is a terrible idea because of the blowouts, read that again. There's already blowouts every single year. Yes, even between bama-osu and clemson-osu.

You want to end the bama/clemson/osu stranglehold? Give the elite players who are looking to play in the playoff more options. The talent will spread out, at least a little. And every bit of added parity relative to our current state is good imo.
