oh we're taking it further than that! who knows when this thing will end.

maybe i'll start blogging on this thread about each day of my life without soda.

here we go..

Day 4 - The headaches have stopped. I think it has to do with the couple glasses of green tea i drink. I really think i can get through this because right now, i'm not missing soda at all. I'm going to the Redskins - Jets game at Giants Stadium on November 4th and i'm trying to figure out what I should drink while we're tailgating. I don't want to drink green tea because that doesn't seem like a tailgating type of drink. Any suggestions?

Gatorade, Water, Lemonade, and/or Hot Chocolate.

Ok, here's my funny story about pop. A year or so ago I went out to McDonalds at night with some friends and while I was nearing the end of my order and I ordered a med. pop. The guy behind the counter, who was of Latino decent which is quite common in this area since we have so many illegal Mexicans up here said "huh?". So I repeated that I'd like a med. pop. He kind of just stood there with a stupid look on his face, and kind of said "huh?" again. At this point I was about ready to ask the guy if he spoke English, which is another problem that you run into more and more these days. But wha I did say was "a med pop, you know, like a Coke." Then a normal look came back on his face and he said "Oh, ok. I just moved here from Texas and no one down there calls it pop. Everyone either calls it soda or Coke."

It's quite funny for those of you that've never been to the midwest because hardly anywhere here, including the stores refer to it a soda, eveyone calls it pop or by the brand name (Pepsi, Coke, etc.)

Although one of my funniest pop experiences was one time when I was in Georgia I actually heard people call it a Pepsi Coke. I stopped, turned around to my friends and asked, "Did they just say they wanted a Pepsi Coke, they do know it's two totaly different brands right?"

maybe the name of this thread should be changed to 'no more soda, pop, or pepsi coke'

I have one diet coke a day, at lunch. If there is no diet coke in the machine, it is a very bad afternoon.

That's so true...I think my entire department drinks it. We should get a diet coke vending machine.
