Yeah, he has level B bonuses that say if he plays 25 minutes or more in each of the 82 games this season, he gets an additional 1.5 mil or something like that. Flyers didn't want to risk it. I guess they feel pretty good about the kid if they are even thinking that might be a possibility. 25 minutes for 82 games is a lot for the kid.

They're just doing it cause they are really close to the cap and they need to carry Lappy for a game before he goes to LTIR. So that'll take the Million or so off right away. Plus they have Couturier that will step in and play 3rd line center

Yeah, but just the fact they think there is even a chance at him hitting that milestone, I think speaks volumes about the kid.

There's no way he'd hit it. But I think if he's ineligible for the bonues his cap hit goes down right away. But if they kept him on the NHL roster they'd have to keep the cap room for it just in case. That's my interpretation at least.

And i got to thinking this is the group of fowards the Flyers could have on their roster eventually this year

Hey KPENN - Penner is supposed to be really motivated because he is in a contract year. Well, he is going to be a scratch for the first game with a "lower body injury".

Snagged Kopitar in the early 3rd round. Biggest steal of the draft IMO. Love my D as well. Like having Hiller as a 3rd goalie - high risk, high reward with the risk mitigated by the two above him.

Kopitar will be a steal for you. He has looked really good so far in preseason considering the injury he is coming back from. I can't wait. I am loving the Kings lineup right now. Should be interesting.

I honestly think Kopitar will have a top 10, possibly even top 5 fantasy season.

I really hope so! That would be awesome! I think having Richards as the 2nd line center is going to take a lot of pressure off Kopi. The Kings have a nice mix of young talent and veteran leadership. I like the Gagne and Moreau acquisitions and Trent Hunter is an incredible value at only $600K this year. I am also looking at Dustin Brown as getting better playing with Richards.

Watched the last two thirds of the Flyers/Bruins game and most of the Pens/Nucks game. Both very good games in my opinion. Luongo let in some very soft goals. He was out of position a lot and looked to really be struggling a bit. He will find his form. Pens are going to be very good when they get Crosby back.

Gotcha a goal and an assist today! Kings weren't too pretty, but I will take the win. Season opener, on the road, on a different continent, I will definitely take it. Quick let in a really soft goal, but I am okay with that. He looked really solid. Doughty looked pretty good. I really like Mike Richards! Also a goal and an assist. The game tying goal and an assist on the game winner.

I much say that Blue Jacket jersey really fits Carter quite well
