Not for his salary and his lack of performance during the regular season... but the playoff performance has been great certainly.

I'll take what he does over what Jeff Carter does. Carter scores ton in the regular season but no shows in the playoffs. I gladly take Briere's mediocre regular seasons for great playoffs.

I completely agree with the statement.

Fair enough.

When the game is on the line he is always the one to watch I know I would love to have him on our team.

Oh no doubt. He's just money in the playoffs. Just wish he could grow a better beard though

Flew home from work thinking the Flyer game was on but of course its tomorrow. Don't really understand the 2 days off in between games. No reason to drag the inevitable out for the Flyers even longer

Way to go Kings! Took care of business at home! Got to see the handshake live with the Kings on the right side of the equation for the first time in my life. Kings are rolling. I hope the long layoff won't hurt the momentum.

Staples was louder than I have ever heard before. Now I hope it gets even louder for the Western Conference Finals!!!

I wish I could've been there this morning, I went to an airshow in Chino and couldn't stop checking the score updates. Thinking about finding tickets for the conference finals because I hate the Coyotes. It would tickle me to death if the Kings blasted Phoenix like they've blasted Vancouver and St. Louis. The atmosphere in Staples Center this year has been awesome. I'm trying not to get too far ahead of myself though, the last time they did this they had Gretzky, Robitaille, Curry, Granato, Taylor, McSorley, Hrudey, Coffey, Zhitnik, Hardy, Sydor, Donnelly and Blake and still couldn't get it done. They've already surpassed my expectations, but please pound Phoenix!

I have been saying a lot this year that I thought this team was built for the playoffs. Just get in and they would go deep. However, never in my wildest dreams did I think they would knock off the #1 and #2 seeds and only play a combined 9 games. They are rolling all four lines and they just look in control of the games.

You should definitely get tickets for the WCF games. I am thinking of driving out to Phoenix for one, if the schedule works out right. The crowd at Staples has been awesome. Even today - usually day games the crowd is a little subdued and I thought the post Cinco de Mayo hangover might impact the crowd a bit, but we were on our feet going nuts for the entire last three minutes. It was awesome!

Now the Kings can get a rest, heal up some dings and bruises, and prepare for the next round. Hope you can make it to a game in the next round.

Rangers (Richards) tied it with 6.6 left in regulation. Won in overtime on a Staal shot. Rangers up 3-2. YES

So, just finalized my trip out to Phoenix on Sunday for game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. I'm sure most of you have seen some of my sports stories and many of them center around my mom. She is the big sports fan in my life and the reason I am such a sports nut today.

She and her mom used to drive to meet the Irish at the train station in dowtown LA when they arrived to play USC back in the late 40's. She loves the Dodgers and Lakers and Kings and she knows her stuff too.

Well, she has never been to a Stanley Cup Playoff game, so Sunday will be her first experience of live playoff hockey. I can't wait. And the fact that it is on Mother's Day is even better. Should be crazy!

Can't wait! GO KINGS!!!

Hoping for a Phoenix vs NJ final. Maybe it'll make Bettman's head explode and the NHL can get a new commish.

I'm not sure that Jeremy Jacobs' lease on Bettman has expired yet

I'd like to see the same final, although I think Sutter will get the Kings into the final series. He has a very good ability to motivate short-term; not sure it will last past next season though (he's a Keenan disciple who seems to be good for a couple of years and then the act wears thin......hell, Keenan can't even make through a season anymore before he loses his team)
