Told you...
Ironic Dallas has to win in Minnesota
Haha yup. I miss the north stars
My hawks couldnt close. Damn good hockey game though if anyone watched it.
As a 30+ year resident of MN I admit that the Minnesota North Stars moving to Dallas to become the Dallas Stars stung. The state motto is L'etoile du Nord (Star of the North, Nanker), fer Chrissakes!
A straight forward case of another greedy owner, failing to blackmail the locals into coughing up public funds to further line his pocket, simply picking up his puck and leaving.
At least he dropped the "North" from the team name. Why the hell does Dallas have a hockey team anyway? How long is their pond hockey season?
On a side note or four: How many lakes are there in LA? "Lakers" made sense when the team was in Minneapolis. "The Dodgers" earned their name from the fans dodging street cars to get to the game. Street cars in LA were not an issue. The sobriquet "Jazz" made sense in New Orleans, but Utah doesn't immediately jump to mind when listening to Thelonious Monk. At least the Washington Senators' owner, Cal Griffith, renamed the team The Minnesota Twins when he moved the team to Minneapolis.
I mean, I mean, I mean ... can anyone imagine "The Fighting Irish of Brigham Young University?"
Back (somewhat) to the topic at hand, I found it sadly ironic that Minnesota, "The State of Hockey," was without a professional team for years while franchises were cropping up in Dallas, Anaheim, Tampa Bay and San Jose. With the current state of affairs, we may well see an team known as the Honolulu Vikings.
I am considering driving out to PHX to watch the Wings...hmmmmm
How long of a drive is it?
Sometimes I wish I lived around Atlanta, Tampa, Miami, ect..... Somewhere where the Flyers play twice and never sell out so tickets would be dirt cheap and easy to get

45 min flight and around 6 hour drive. The Glendale area is sweet...they have the Yotes and the Cards all in the same area. However hotter than HELL...dont know how that ice is going to be....
You are in NY ...correct? I just received a job offer in FishKill NY....i know nothing about that place.
What about the Islanders? A friend of mine went out there to see the Kings play the Isles and the Ranjuhs. He got second row seats at Nassau Coliseum for about $40. He said the arena was a pit, though. Maybe the Flyers would sell out the Islanders games too, I don't know. I know the Kings aren't a huge draw on the East Coast.
I'm in western NY. It would be a hike. I just want games where they'll almost pay you to get into games. I was watching a panther game and they had lower level seats any 3 games you want for like $45 dollars.
The sabres screw you over for tickets. I'd go all the time to see the flyers but it's just so expensive
That's not terrible. I was on stubhub looking and tix for the yotes are cheap.
I'm nowhere near fishkill. It's down by NYC I believe. I'm up in-between Buffalo and Syracuse
