Syracuse(now 28th ) and USC(38th) could hopefully be ranked
when we play them during the last two weeks of the season.
This would give us 5 (Michigan, Stanford, Vtech, Syracuse and USC) in the top 25
1 SEC --Bama, Georgia, LSU and even still Kentucky could
be an undefeated league champ
2 Big 10--Only Ohio State remains with that possibility
3 ACC --Clemson and NC State still have a chance to run the table
4-Big 12 --OKl and Wvirginia still in the hunt as well
5- Pac 12--only Colorado with that possibility
6-UCF( yet their schedule?) joins the Irish
in the undefeated trek
I can understand how an undefeated
league champion could be ranked slightly
higher than the Irish ---not UCF though no
There are still 7 weeks to go
with those followed by the
league championship games
Plenty to come
What is important?
Beat Vtech
..... win out one week at a time.
And --Let's keep pulling for Michigan to wreak havoc
in the Big 10, Stanford and USC in the
Pac 12 and Vtech/Syracuse in the ACC
I am partial to expanding to
an 8 team playoff with the P5 Champions
receiving an automatic bid followed
by 3 at large bids from the best? /most deserving?
of the remaining teams in the P5,or independents
or beyond the P5...depending on the year, etc
I do not think that this approach
would undermine the regular season
And it could promote more
competitive non league games
which would not undermine
the league goal and auto bid but
might help the SOS to be competitively
considered for the 3 at large bids
Would this force ND's hand to more seriously consider
joining a league or would it view independence
as to be so valuable that it would be content to annually go after
just one of the 3 at large bids?
