Build Back Better.Since we finished this year ranked 18th, this is an improvement! Nice work Jack!

This is the equivalent to saying HH would be a solid choice for an OCOk, here it is...I think Parker will be fine. He can run the same system for continuity rather than bringing in something new for them to learn, which will make his life easier. Obviously he can add his own wrinkles to keep defenses guessing. It'll be easier to keep things rolling without having to transition to a new system for our current players. There's just too much talent and experience on this team to fail right now. All the starters should be upperclassmen going into next year, unless Merriweather starts and he's got some reps so he'll be fine. We'll be returning one of the most experienced offenses in college football next year with added depth. We've got a proven QB and talent behind him. It would take an idiot to fuck this up, it's rare we have such a stocked cupboard for a new coach. It's probably a temporary solution anyway, because if this offense takes off like expected then whoever the OC is will probably get hired away elsewhere.
I think my high school called him.How many OC positions did Parker interview for this off-season?
I would have liked him over Parker, that is not a horrible idea. This is the equivalent to saying HH would be a solid choice for an OC
I think Freeman deserves a lot of blame for this. No Ludwig is on Swarbrick, but then settling so quickly like this is an awful awful mistake. Are people in the Gug seriously excited about the future tonight? One problem is as much as it should not be this is definitely will reflect on Freeman - he will be judged for this last week or so and he will know that. I’d say he bails if he gets a chance somewhere more serious about football.
Take a lap. That's generous. Honestly, I could see us fighting for bowl eligibility next year.
We're not Georgia and have not won back to back titles. They ooze 5 stars, different teams and set-up. We have a very inexperienced head coach, with a very inexperienced OC again. No hire can be any worse than BVG. I’m willing to give Parker a shot you don’t know until you know. He could turn out to be a heck of a coach. He sure didn’t have this much talent at WR. Look Georgia just hired a OC who wasn’t good enough for them and got let go and then hired back
Right??? Lol15 th ranked is solid based on Hartman and players . Hartman gotta be worth better than 18 th .
And we also have the deepest RB room in the country, a ton of talented WR’s two first round picks at tackle, and one of the top QB’s in the nation. We're not Georgia and have not won back to back titles. We're still not Georgia, and WR room is not tested. If all you listed is true (most is) then we should bend over backwards to get them the very best, not bargain basement shopping. This was/is a lazy hire. And we also have the deepest RB room in the country, a ton of talented WR’s two first round picks at tackle, and one of the top QB’s in the nation.
No coach with championship aspirations would have interviewed Parker. How many OC positions did Parker interview for this off-season?
Maybe Mount Union? No coach with championship aspirations would have interviewed Parker.
We had Jaylon Smith in 2014 and it was, I believe, the worst defense statistically in ND history? (Or one of them anyway.)Some of ya'll need to come down off the ledge. We will be better at every position next year with the exception of TE (Which should still be very good based on our history) and maybe a guard. QB will be a huge difference maker. Seriously, it would take the equivalent of BVG on offense to screw this up and BVG didn't even have this much proven talent and experience to work with at each position. I'm not expecting Parker to win a Broyles award, but I'm expecting this offense to be much better next year regardless who is OC. The last two years have been all about building, it's time.
We’re about to stress test this theory. No hire can be any worse than BVG.
Jaylon was remarkable, but we didn't have 11 Jaylon's on the field. Takes more than one guy.We had Jaylon Smith in 2014 and it was, I believe, the worst defense statistically in ND history? (Or one of them anyway.)
ouch
Freeman has made some pretty darn good hires. If he thinks Parker can succeed he deserves the benefit of the doubt. He’s got a whole lot more riding in this decision than any of us. I’m all in!
We also had Day, Rochelle, Jarron Jones, Onwaulu, Romeo, and Cole Luke - all guys who either made NFL rosters or were close.Jaylon was remarkable, but we didn't have 11 Jaylon's on the field. Takes more than one guy.
Talent was there, BVG was just awful. I remember when he had Day dropping in coverage at the worst times. We also had Day, Rochelle, Jarron Jones, Onwaulu, Romeo, and Cole Luke - all guys who either made NFL rosters or were close.
