Holy cow. I just now read about Davonte Neal and his murder charge. Does anyone find it bizarre/extremely sad on the outcomes of members of the 2012 team? I mean 3 members are now dead - I believe all three were from suicide. 2 members have been accused of murder. Prince Shembo was linked to the sexual assault/suicide of a student and got in trouble for killing his girlfriend's dog.

Winning isn't easy.

I was on campus that day. Everyone in every building was made to go to its basement/shelter at around 1pm and stayed there for some time studying. The tower fell over sometime before 5pm.

If I recall, big Lou had struggled after the gun shot nearly took his life. Had residual pain and trauma I believe, which is where the alcohol came into play. Gone too soon.

Big Lou came to ND and never went home to Jax once in the whole time he was a ND player. He spent every break/offseason/holiday at ND to keep away from trouble and bad influences in his old neighborhood. Very sad he ended up back there

Thats an awful ending to what could have been a great life's story. Kudos to Lou for trying to stay away from that tough situation back home when he was at ND.

Holy Fook…. Joel Klatt has ND at #18 preseason. He says the loss of Michael Mayer, and Tommy Reese is a problem and that Marcus Freeman is a wait and hold as to whether he’ll work out at Notre Dame. He did say the office of line is one of the best in the country and that they should take it to OSU on line play.

I always thought Joel Klatt was a big supporter of Notre Dame but I think at 18 he’s looking at an 8 to 9 win season at best.

That is a fair analysis. We hired an complete unknown as OC and Mayer was a beast. In addition. Marcus is unknown at this point. I have the same reservations.

Listen to his full show, then listen to his comments about teams he has ranked above ND. It makes no sense.
He says the exact same thing about other teams, who were worse last year, and lost more players, with unproven coaches, but put them above ND.
For example, OU. They were dogshit last year, under .500, didn’t upgrade anywhere, unproven HC who was really bad in year 1 last year, but Klatt ranks them ahead of ND?

It’s just a bad preseason ranking by Klatt this year. He has a lot of B1G & Big12 teams higher than they should be because that’s who he covers.

It's all noise. No one really knows shit, especially with so much roster turnover with the portal now. And half the top teams are replacing QBs.

The one trend I have noticed is that the national media does not seem to think that Hartman will be the revolutionary difference-maker for our offense that we all do. Personally I think they're sleeping on us. That's fine.

Driskell is literally telling people they can’t discuss ANYTHING but football now that the season has started.
Someone posted a folk music video thread & Driskell locked it and told the board that he allowed them to discuss other things during the off-season, but now the season is starting they can no longer discuss anything but football.

A few thoughts on this…

1) When he started his site, his biggest sales pitch was that he was not censoring anyone, and as long as it didn’t cross any obvious lines, people could say what they wanted.
He literally said that the way BGI controlled & censored him was the biggest reason he created his own site. He told BGI (Rivals back then), 247 II, ISD, subscribers that if they came to his site they wouldn’t be censored like at the other sites.

2) So he arbitrarily decides when football season starts? What actually happened is, he doesn’t want anyone ignoring him. He wants all the attention. He gets really butthurt when he puts out, what he feels is a genius football opinion, and nobody cares & posts about other things.

3) He is such a hypocritical baby.
