MSST plays a Center and 4 Guards Offense

McCowan 6-7
Vivians 6-1
Schaefer 5-7
Johnson 5-7
Morgan 5-5

They have the big height edge up front in McCowan. ND guards have big edge in height. Their gonna need to stretch the zone to limit State's 3 pt shooting, 39%. In their only loss they had trouble shooting 3s.

I had the transcript of the pre-game conference between Muffet and Schaefer but lost it and can't find.


ND and MSST have never met in WBB but Muffet faced Schaefer when he was A&M assist and he handled defense which beat ND.

Muffet focused on McCowans and Vivians. Noted that for the season McCowans only has 17 assists.

McGraw commented that Vaughn is ahead of rehab schedule. Michal Johnson will be graduating and not returning. Lili Thompson is out of eligibility. "That's two gone and other two are coming back." Bri wasn't mentioned by name.

There’s no off the ball movement, let alone off the ball screens. So stagnant, we’re playing right into an aggressive man defense’s strength.

McCowan can move. Like Marina, I did not think she could cover so much territory so quickly.

The giant should have 4 fouls just on the offensive end, every time she touches the ball she hooks or throws her right elbow.

Mabrey making dumb decisions, shot selection is awful they are scrambling to do anything because half the time
Shepherd is having a hard time getting up and down the court. Why did she shoot that 3?

ND's offense is the problem. Defense is held State to 30. Vivians has 14 points, 6-12. McCowans has 9 on 4-11.

On Offense ND shooting aside from Jess's 3-4 is atrocious. Arike 1-10, Mabs 1-5. Kat 1-2 and Jackie 1-2 need to take more shoots.


IF ND had just matched the 1st Q's 17 points they'd be down by 2 at halftime.

So apparently if you are 6'7" you are allowed to push anyone you want, travel with the ball or lie down in the key for well over three seconds.
