ND vs. Detroit

Game is tonight at 9 on ESPNU. I may miss the first few minutes but I'll post updates if no one else is. Detroit is a good team. They have a McDonald's All-American at PG and they're supposed to challenge Butler in the Horizon League. Considering its just our second game and we're without Abro, a win here would be huge.

Not much talk about the Titans in SE Michigan lately (possibly due to UM's supposed resurgence). IMO, ND is the better team and they are playing in South Bend too right?

Yes they are in South Bend and in recent years have been pretty good at home. This team hasn't looked that impressive yet though. I still think they win though.

Detroit is no joke. I am a pretty optimistic fan but I think this one will be tough to get. Detroit was picked to finish second to Butler in this league. The same league that has Cleveland St who just knocked off the 7th ranked team in the country.

One of the main things I get from this game so far is that Atkins is for real. It is a good thing that he will be here for this year and hopefully another 2 after that.

One thing that is keeping ND in this game, is all the fouls Detroit has committed so far. Detroit looks very good. If they play this way all year, they will be a tourney team and a dangerous one at that.

Very high 4 or 5. Actually considered Notre Dame.

Ray McCallum was rated a 4 star by ESPN and Rivals. A 5 star by scout.

On ESPN he was the 5 ranked PG. 12th ranked G on Rivals. 6th ranked PG on scout.

Very talented. This Detroit team is good.

Man....do we miss Abro. We are young and just are struggling to shoot it, right now. Scotty Martin needs to start hitting.

J Grant looks good, though.

That 6'10" center is a beast. We need to get players like that. When's the last time we had a 6'10+ Center? Zeller does not count since he played outside the whole time. I'm thinking Torin Francis.

This team is very young right now minus Martin. We don't have that same edge we had last year yet. We're going to have to get hot or keep getting Detroit in foul trouble, cause they are just outplaying us right now.
