I see their RBs breaking a few big plays and our DBs can't stop their WRs on 3rd downs. I see us 2/3 of FGs. Close game, but no miracle this time.

This game to me feels the same as the '77 game. They had just destroyed us for a few times but the raw emotion and talent of that '77 team just kept coming. That 'Southern Cal' team was like this one new but strong. Notre Dame is overrated, Clausen is REALLY overrated, Notre Dame hasnt played anyone and the one team that beat us is the only team thats won more than its lost, Weis is overrated, Weis gets slandard about his physic, Notre Dame doesnt belong in the BCS discussion, the stadium is overrated, the fans are overrated, the grass is too long, its going to be cold, if Notre Dame wins this isnt a good 'Southern Cal team, on and on and on. How can Notre Dame possibly beat 'Southern Cal'. Just watch. ( Jim Clausen you know I was not serious- hell-of-a triggerman ). Go Irish.

An impressively optimistic bunch. I just don't see it, though.

USC averages 8 points allowed per game. 8 points. We struggled in the red zone a couple of weeks ago against Washington, settling for a ton of FG's. I'm sensing a repeat here.

I hope like hell I'm wrong.

I might feel differently with a healthy Michael Floyd. Or an actual secondary. But we have neither.

I stick by my prediction. The score is a touchdown off for each team, but...

1) Barkley had GREAT protection for most of the day and had 380 yards

2) Irish D did pretty well against McKnight, but still had 80 yards on 20 carries.

3) Offensive evetually put up some points, but defense could not get off the field. 3rd and 2 TWICE, barkley to mccoy for 50+ yards.

4) USC D line is SICK and did not need to blitz to sack Clausen. Ask Duncan and Young.

5) Big play by Damien Williams on bubble screen for TD

I absolutely love the fight in this team. If they can hang with USC I know what they are capable of. This is not a signature loss. It's gut check time, and we didn't have enough tonight. Charlie keeps his job.
