I really don't understand all the love for K-State. We have two common opponents: Miami at home and Oklahoma away. The Miami game is a wash, as both ND and KSU murdered the Canes. And then we come to the trips to Norman... if Blake Bell doesn't fumble at the goal line, OU probably wins that game. Notre Dame went in there and just beat the Sooners up.
It is tough for KSU to plan OOC games because they have to play 9 conference games in the Big 12, and they couldn't account for Miami being horrible (neither could we). However, OOC wins against Missouri State and North Texas count for nothing, especially when you see that North Texas played them very, very close.
I feel like all the hype around that West Virginia game is what's keeping them ahead of us, despite the fact that WVU has been terribly exposed since then. Voters can point to close wins against Purdue and BYU, but K-State has done the same thing. Like I mentioned, North Texas (!!) hung with them for three quarters, and Iowa State gave them everything they could handle.
