Could some of you, not all, but some please learn to actually read before ever posting again.
Sometimes I am embarrased to be a ND fan when on this site. The OP was simply asking what it would take to get into the BCS. 9 wins and a top 14 ranking is the only answer he needed. I didnt see him making any predictions, or asking for any for that matter.
I forgot Stanford was the 85 Bears. According to some of you, I am extremely confused why this game is even going to be played.
The negativety is getting to be overwhelming.
Thank you.
Although I think that the OP was probably wanting to know which teams we needed to lose/win for the #14 rank to be possible...
That being said, if Notre Dame had been able to cut even one mistake per game out of their first two this year, we would be a top 10 team right now, even with a loss to what has proven to be a pretty solid usc team. I'm not saying that we deserve that ranking, or that those first two games weren't our fault, or anything like that. However, if Stanford vs. Notre Dame was a top 10 matchup, I doubt everyone would be so negative as was mentioned above. Maybe it's true, and we don't belong anywhere near a BCS game, but I have to think the feeling would be different had we just had a few things go our way early in the season.
Do I think that our secondary and linebackers will have trouble with Luck and his TEs? Yes.
Do I think our chances are hurt along with Jonas Gray? Yup.
Does that mean I think we have absolutely no chance against Stanford? No.
Regardless of all of the ups and downs we've had this year, we still have a pretty darn good football team.
Have a little hope. If I have to eat my words on Saturday, then so be it, but I won't be sitting on my couch being depressing while #22 Notre Dame takes on #6 Stanford.
