if memory is correct, about 2001 they had a great team and i believe were ranked #2 at some point...just checked, i was correct but they finished #15, 2002-finished ranked at 7 or 6 depending on which poll....2001-2006 ND was legit in the baseball world and then got extremely stale for a good many years until last year

Makes sense as that was the Mainieri era before he left for LSU. 2002 was the last time ND made the CWS.

Good bounce back in game 1 of today's double header after laying an egg last night at BC. Kavadas hit his 14th HR of the year in the 9th to give them some insurance runs. He freaking mashes the ball.

2nd game of the DH is something to behold. Irish just scored 10 runs in the top of the 8th to erase a 9-1 deficit.

Damn, what a year they are having. Currently own a 4 game lead in the ACC standings with 2 series left. They set a program record for runs scored in an ACC game yesterday and have won 6 in a row as well. I'm pretty sure they lead the nation in fielding percentage too, just an all around solid team.

Dropped down to #4 with their first lost series of the season against FSU. Interesting enough the RPI index has ND at 13.

Is that in the Baseball America poll? BA seems to rank ND higher than the other polls but at last look they were within the top 10 in all polls. They probably won’t make it to Omaha but what a great run in year one w/ Jarrett.

That was a frustrating series to watch. They had a lo of chances on Friday night, I believe they loaded the bases twice with 0 or 1 out and only scored 1 run in the first. FSU's pitcher was keeping them off balance with a lot of off speed stuff and ND just couldn't get the big hit when they needed it. Looks like they still have a 2 game lead over Georgia Tech for the overall best ACC record.

They totally let the FSU pitcher off the hook and then he starting dealing. They brought in Anderson and it was lights out. I think overall the FSU pitchers, who are very strong, were on point all weekend. ND should've saved a few runs from the UNC series!!!!!

What an incredible job Link Jarrett has done with the program. And, it sounds like with this recruiting they should continue on this trend.

Considering ND football recruits some dual sport (baseball) players, this can only benefit those future recruitments.
