I have 2 thought processes on the play off this year. 1--Washington beats Alabama and makes their whole %$#@ conference look highly overrated (not happening). 2 Alabama just blows out 2 opponents by 40 and the college football world finally starts to ask the question what the hell is going on there. How can this team be this good and who in the ^%$# is getting these guys in college what are they taking and is this professional football or college guys playing a game. I would really like to see some changes made in who gets in but more importantly what are they taking and how do they stay illegible once they get in. Watching Catholics vs Convicts this week made me realize the issue is not who or how they get in rather it is are they a STUDENT ala Tony Rice once they are in. Musberger hit it on the head when he said isn't that the purpose of higher education-just what is being done at these other places or in college football in general? If it can be proven to me that this is NOT the reason Notre Dame is a non factor in college football I'll shut it down and realize Notre Dame is just a bad program with no leadership. I would like answers. By the way unless I'm wrong Tony Rice has a very god job in the insurance industry in Chicago. Not bad for a guy who was looked upon as academically unsound. Very intelligent guy who was given a chance. I wonder if its that way at these other places today-the Heisman guy this year makes me think not.

Just for fun, I'm looking for a way to bet on all 4 teams in such a way that I'd not lose money no matter what the outcome. Basically, you have to bet enough on 'Bam to cover whatever you'd lose on the other 3 getting less that 2 to 1. I don't think it's possible, but it's a fun mental exercise.

Excited for Bama/Washington. They might get out-talented, but Washington won't be out-coached at all IMO.

OSU beats Wash
Bama beats Clem
Bama beats OSU

It is really a screw job to Wash that OSU was in 3rd instead of 4th. To me, that just shows how much political pull OSU has because everyone knows Clemson is the worst of the 4 teams and will get shelled by whomever they play. That guarantees OSU big money for playing in the NC game despite 1) not winning their conference championship 2) not beating any team with a pulse convincingly 3) barely beating a lot of bad teams

By the way, I owe my measly amount of Vbucks to a IE member due to taking Miami vs ND. I still do not know a way to transfer. Can anyone PM me and let me know the process so I can get out of debt please?

You can use the "donate" option right by your rep bar. That will allow you to give vbucks to another member. Although anyone who takes Miami over ND doesn't even deserve to have vbucks. ;)

It really just depends on the school. There are lots of successful programs out there generally trying to do it the right way. There are some who couldn't care less if Johnny can read & write as long as he can run & tackle. Not every successful program should be lumped in with Louisville, Auburn or FSU. Also remember that most of these programs are public schools with a very different type of student and operating under a very different set of circumstances than a private university or the military academies.

My personal opinion is that ND's problem is not that they're at a significant disadvantage because of academics and because they're the only program "doing it the right way." ND has top 10 talent, so being limited to only a certain type of player clearly hasn't stopped you from getting plenty of talented players. ND's problem is coaching and Kelly's inability to get rid of the dead wood on his staff and put together a competent one. You guys used to kick ass and take names under similar circumstances when you had Ara, Lou and others. Saban, Harbaugh, or Meyer would win 10 games with your roster.

So...kinda like our game against Alabama in 2012, but it'll be closer because of the coaching.

God I hate laying vBucks on Bama but it might be the only bet I win here in bowl-season.
