Idk he kind of dove at the guys legs. Honestly though, it would be kind of hypocritical to criticize that no call and not the one at the end of the ND Wiscky game.

He dove for a loose ball and actually touched it before the Nova guy did.

The nova guy had two hands on the ball about to run with it and the kansas guy dove in at his legs. It was a foul.

That's just inaccurate. Sorry, I know I'm a homer. But that's now how it happened. All three announcers agree with me on this one.

ETA: Here's the USA Today's in game note on the play...

10:55 p.m.

A little officiating controversy at the end of a classic game. Kansas' Devonte Graham was called for his fifth foul with about 30 seconds left when he dove for what seemed to be a loose ball and undercut a Villanova player.

It was a debatable call.

That's code for, "it was clearly the wrong call."

When I first saw the play, I would have agreed with you. After seeing the replay, I changed my mind. And as I stated before, I don't even like nova (I was rooting for ku).

Agree to disagree. Every announcer and every blogger who was following the game that I have seen (I've looked for a few to see if I'm crazy) called it a loose ball and disagreed with the call. I saw Devonte dive for a loose ball, actually touch it before the Nova guy, then slide through the other player. That's a scrum, it's not a trip.

For the record, I'm not even saying that was what cost KU the game. Seldon going 0 for 6 from three and Ellis only having 4 points did that. Nova is tenacious and could win the whole thing.

But Devonte was KU's best player tonight and he had 3 fouls that the announcers thought were bad calls, including the trip where he fouled out. That's pretty consequential.

Losing to a #2 seed can barely be considered an upset, let alone a choke job. Especially since Nova was widely in contention for a #1 seed and blew out their first 3 round opponents by 24+ each.

Good game.

What really blows is that my wife is now in solo first of our bracket with my buddies.

She won it last year.

She's watched 2 games (both ND).

I hate her.

He travelled...

Even if he did (and I don't think that he had possession first), it still wouldn't have eliminated him from the game. At, at that point, he was the only KU player who could hit a shot.

either way (foul or Kansas guy travelling with the ball) its nova ball.
nova had some nicle dime calls go against them all night too.
better team won tonite, nova outhustled KU. the bench kid Bridges IMO was mvp of the game (great defense, timely steals).
