I am soooooooooo excited about this seeding. If we can get past Old Dominion and Baylor, we would probably get Nova (who we know well) and then possibly Duke (who I think we would match up well against). I don't think we could have gotten a better seeding or a better bracket. The way we are playing, I actually think the Irish do have a chance to get deep into the tourney (hell, maybe even a Final Four :). GO IRISH!!!

Final four???? Uhhhhhh. NO! I would worry about Old Dominion. IF we can beat Old Dominion we got Baylor in the 2nd round. Baylor is the 2nd hottest team in the country right now. Theres no beating Baylor quite frankly Im not so sure we are going to beat Old Dominion. BUT, they have proven me wrong before so lets hope they keep doing it. Here's to the Final Four wishing though. lol

Liking the draw compared to the other 3 regions. They just might have a little run in them to get into the elite8 if they aren't careful. Go Irish!!!

What time are we playing on Thursday?

From UND website:

Notre Dame's men's basketball team, seeded sixth in the South Region of the 2010 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship, takes on 11th-seed Old Dominion (26-8 and the Colonial Athletic Association champion) Thursday (March 18) at 11:25 a.m. CDT (12:25 p.m. EDT) in a first-round game in New Orleans, La., at the New Orleans Arena (capacity 17,188), based on NCAA pairings released tonight

Maybe I'm drinking the kool-aid a bit, but I see a Notre Dame team that is peaking at the right time. You are correct that OD and Baylor will be very difficult games that could go either way, but I do think that this ND team is poised to make a deep run in the tourney. This break was exactly what Luke needed to get his legs back and I think that he and Tory Jackson will play their hearts out in their last games...and those two have a LOT of heart! Here's to wishful thinking!!!

I'll have to try it next time I hit Jazz Fest. If you haven't done so already, spend some time at Johnny White's (the original on St. Peter – across the street from Pat. O'Brien's) or The Copper Monkey, 725 Conti. This is more of a hangout for the locals and doesn't really hit it's stride till 2 or 3 in the morning when the wait and bar staff (and a dancer or three) from other places start showing up.

Some advice if you go there: they don't have beer on tap so don't ask. On the wall across from the bar is a rack with the bottled beers they sell. Chose one when you get there. Don't ask the woman tending bar "What do you have?" That's starting off on the wrong foot. She might, without saying a word, derisively stomp out from behind the bar, walk over to the display and point to the bottles one by one. She won't like you. Not good.

And, if you're a little tired come 6 AM (after a day of continual drinking and eating – starting with Bloody Mary's for breakfast 21 hours earlier) don't put your head on the bar as a joking signal to your drinking buddies that it might be time to grab a shower, change clothes and begin drinking and eating again. She'll declare "He's outta here!" as soon as your ear meets wood.
