We all have differences of opinion, but can we all agree that Euro-step = traveling?

Clippers and Doc Rivers parting ways.

Win now team that didn't win now. Big hire coming. Have to assume Lue is in the mix there.

Pretty funny that Lue was apparently choice No. 1 for the Lakers and he turned them down because he was afraid he'd get shitcanned quickly if he didn't produce a championship. To quote Michael Scott, "How the turn tables."

Interesting... I always thought the consensus was that Lue is not a good coach?

I think everyone that coaches Lebron gets that label, because it's assumed Lebron is also LeGM and LeCoach. I think nowadays Lue is pretty well respected as a good team chemistry coach who can motivate stars and has some great play calling out of timeouts.

I'm not going to pretend to be able to tell if he's a good coach myself, because I'm barely qualified to talk about football coaching and that's a much easier sport to discern good/bad coaching and I've watched about 100x more football than basketball in my life.

Maybe if Doc had spent more time coaching than on the political front he would have had better success.

Heard several teams want to speak with Lue.

Spoelstra got the same label at first. Turns out he might be the best coach out there at any level of the sport. It comes down to who can get that group of players/personalities to respond. Lue has had experience handling similar teams. One thing is for sure, it can't be a young first time HC that gets that job.

Quite a few coaches and players in the bubble have been addressing current events, not just Rivers, so my interpretation of this post is you don't like what he said. Fair jab to take on your part, but Leonard and George not scoring in the fourth quarter of Game 7 must mean they had their minds on other things too, be it political or otherwise.

I think he didn't get this team through against Denver for a variety of other reasons specifically related to what Denver was doing and what his team wasn't.

The Clippers were THE prime example of NBA load management, and I think they faded down the stretch because of it. When you have less control over your schedule/load management, you either adjust or you fail. They got worn down at the end and couldn't see it through.

All in all, this wasn't just because they lost a series they were up 3-1 in. Probably a culmination of things over time and ultimately was decided after discussion and thought. They didn't announce this immediately, so we can probably guess this was the end of the road after a timeline that could have began months ago.

With this said, maybe Lue is a better fit for the Sixers than the Clippers.

I wouldn't touch that Clipper job with a ten foot pole. Going to be some clean up there for sure and roster turnover.

Who's the pick here in the finals?

I went to a Bulls game last Oct/Nov when they played the Heat. That team can burn a hole through the net. My hope is that Butler keeps that alpha attitude against Lebron and pulls it off.

No not at all. I have posted numerous times on the need for police reform and equality. Here at work I've been called the United Nations because my staff has consisted of Women (about half of my staff), Ukrananes, Hispanics, Blacks, Millenials with a few white guys sprinkled in.

My point was the time he spent discussing politics, he could have been working on the mental toughness of the team, particularly George. Blowing a 3-1 lead says a lot IMO.

As long as the youth of the Heat doesn't get caught up in the moment, I think they might pull it off. Given the environment they are playing in without the crowds, travel and noise is more of a bonus for the Heat IMO.

You're suggesting he spent that much time talking about it that it interfered with his doing a job and they ultimately lost the series to Denver?

Wow.

I'm going Lakers in six. I think Anthony Davis winds up being the difference and when all is said and done, LeBron gets it done for Kobe.

Lakers in 6. Lebron is FMVP.

I know nothing except that I wasn't allowed to drink the last time Lebron lost a series to an East team.

Heat in 7. Adebayo gets FMVP over Butler. Dragic and Herro have a few great games in them.

To quote some nba subreddit user back in December: "Ya'll really let Lebron pair up with AD."

Interesting theory. The entire bubble has been pretty engaged in current events from the start.

I think they got really really tired and lost because they didn't play well.

In a related matter, Doc was hanging with Sixers people yesterday. Sounds like he's headed there to fill that vacancy.

Perfect summary.

Davis was a force, Lebron was an assist away from a triple double. Outrebounded 54-36. Shake it off and come back for Game 2.

They got pretty beat up. I havent seen anything final on Dragic but im guessing torn achilles EDIT: torn left plantar fascia. It was non contact.

Bam will most likely be able to play but he wont be the same with a bum shoulder.

I expect Butler to be fine with the ankle sprain.

Yeah, the injury situation doesn't look good. Still a long series.

AD is on the cusp of a title and he's hungry. Lebron looks locked in. Could be tough for Miami now and it was tough before last night.

ESPN saying Dragic and Adebayo doubtful for game 2.

I'll be real surprised if Dragic has much PT let alone impact rest of series. Plantar Fasciitis is terrible let alone a torn one.

Heat missing their leading scorer and rebounder from playoffs is a huge hit.

Yikes. Not a good scenario for them. Going to have to dig deep and have others step up somehow.

Agree the bubble has been engaged in current events, but hasn't most of that been the players who don't have nearly the responsibility of the HC? I had mentioned Paul George because being a Pacer fan, I'm very much aware of how he performs when the heat gets dialed up. I would think Rivers would be as aware and try to work on that, but it didn't look that way. Especially when listening to George's comments in the PC.

Rivers is okay, but I might look for someone else. Someone younger that can deal with the Philly personalities.
