Most memorable for me is by far the Bush Push. Goal line stand against Stanford. The non-called delay of game fake field goal turned touchdown by MSU, missed field goal against BC. It sucks that most of my most memorable plays went against us. There are many more bad memories too. Too many to list.

Michigan would get hit with an illegal hit today.

The Zellars TD where he runs right over the DB from Purdue is another great one.

Looking at that clip, Army has some big boys on that team.

I'm going with two categories. First in person. Tony Rice's run against USC. Sounded like there was more ND fans in the Coliseum. On tv, Robin Weber's catch against Alabama.

Me - 1988 - CIF finals. Got crushed on a crack back while covering a punt return. Made the local news highlight reel for "hit of the week". Got knocked clear out of the TV frame.

If we're talking ND football. The Rocket punt return that had a penalty, the Bush push, the Stanford goal line stand and the Pitt game winning TD from 2012.

I think you are remembering when Golson dove into the end zone to TIE the game, right?

not to go digging up a massive, massive grave. but here it goes!

a lot of the plays that have been mentioned are in this bad boy. crazy this was 8 years ago and i just got goosebumps, Don Criqui's call on zibbys punt return, and the often overlooked block #23 throws at the 2:27 mark (some serious reps to whoever can name that player w/o looking it up)

but i remember watching this highlight reel day after day when i was 13. crazy.

pure nostalgia.

Goalline Stand vs Stanford
Quinn to the Shark vs UCLA
Lambert Pick 6 vs MSU
Bush Push
Wooden vs 4th and 9 (If he was like an inch or two taller...)

Four stand out:

1.)Rocket's Return against Colorado in the Orange Bowl... I remember that like it was yesterday, I was so mad at my dad (rooting for CU in that game) for that one.

2.) The most recent one would have to be Brady to Shark against UCLA... Everyone in my family is a UCLA fan but me and I had just moved back home for a stint. Mom, Dad and Sis are downstairs cheering loudly the whole time,... I was up stairs just stewing, I erupted on that play... my sister cried. bitch.

:)

3.) The Snow Bowl final drive is way up there too, that game felt like so damned much rode on it, in retrospect it was really just another game, but damn it felt so important at the time.

4.) Easily the biggest. Let's be real, BC 93 is easily the most memorable for me for all the wrong reasons. My childhood basically ended on that kick.

The dropped pass wide open by USC when we finally beat them was a special one for my family. We had just lost our niece to a murder a month or so before the game. We were all struggling with it. My wife knew full well how much it meant to me to finally beat SC and it seemed clear ND was about to choke away another one. My wife left the room about two plays or so before that play. She came back in the room and stated she just prayed for our niece to help if there was anything she could do. Those words go out of her mouth as SC hikes the ball for that play, and he just drops it… of course that didn’t end the game and who knows what really happened on the play, but it helped both of us in the grieving process…. And ND finally won. 

Trying to think of a few 2nd-3rd tier plays since a lot of the good ones have already been mentioned:

-Adrian Jerrell's end around TD against FSU in 93 that caused a seismic momentum shift that would last all game

-Frank Stams almost killing Rodney Peete after he threw an INT in the 88 USC game

-Julius Jones KO return against #1 Nebraska

- Arnaz Battle's long TD first play from scrimmage against FSU in 02

-Marinovich getting blown up at the end of that game where he talked all that shit in the first half.

-Bettis breaking free the second time against Florida in the Sugar Bowl

-Zibby's entire freaking game against Tenn in 05

-Gillette missing that kick to end the 88 Michigan game

-Ivory Covington's goal line tackle to beat Army

-That wide open TD pass from Jackson to i forget who against Michigan right after Um had fumbled a kick off in 1999 I think it was.

-How about Rocket's return in the final Catholics v Convicts game... Where the call was "It's over!" before he even reached mid field.

I kind of like the unconscious touchdown and all. Some really good plays and performances have been mentioned.

But I am surprised that no one mentioned the Fantastic Freshmen, in particular Luther Bradley. He may have had one of the greatest days ever against the likes of Pat Hayden, JK McKay, and Lynn Swan. Hayden had to have had nightmares for weeks, Swan, he must have needed chiropractic!

I listed a lot of older games I remember from my younger years and totally forgot that game. Bradley was unbelievable in that game.

Jim Nantz actually made that call....and it was over as soon as he broke through the line. It was INSANE how fast he was. He slipped, nearly fell and beat everyone to the spot so fast, if you blinked, it was over.

#2 Miami vs. #6 Notre Dame - 1990 - YouTube

Bonus points for returning it into the end zone where I was.

Also pretty cool that Lou drew up the screen pass for Rodney Culver (RIP) that day and called it at the perfect time, too.
