My family went to UF, and if you're not surpised that a ticket to this game is in the top 10 of most expensive games this year, then you're not paying attention. Half the partiers don't even go to the game at all.

I'm not surprised but I've lived in SEC land for 30 years and know alumni at both schools that are Jacksonville regulars. They have reservations made a year or more in advance. They don't bat an eye at the ticket price. It's part of the overall expense for a "roadtrip". But then they aren't buying their tickets from stubhub or any other broker. They don't care what the premium markup is.

For that price I'd expect food, alcohol, and clean hookers included.

A friend of mine, nice guy except for being a Buckeye fan, was offered four luxury box tickets to the game for free from one of his clients who owns a box there. He invited his boss, me, and my brother to the game. After we paid for plane tickets, hotel, car rental, etc., the box owner decided he "wasn't comfortable" with us and despite previously confirming the free tickets in writing he pulled his offer. The four guys he didn't feel comfortable with included the owner and president of an insurance company, the vice president of an insurance company, the owner and president of a veterinary hospital, and the HR director for two large Hilton resort hotels in Scottsdale. Methinks he saw the going prices for luxury box seats and decided he could pay for his box for a couple of years by selling his 20 tickets. Prick.

Well you get excellent food, top shelf booze, clean hookers... not so much. It is Texas after all.
