after Michigan had such a "great" game, by all "experts". they are now being beat by D II UMASS. 17-7 and its about to be halftime.

its only one half but still Michigan has lost like this before

EDIT: as i was posting Michigan just scored, 17-14

And this is why that Michigan game was so depressing. They sucked. All we had to do was stop one player. And we couldn't. I'd bought into the hype about them and let it cheer me up about the Irish, but deep down I knew that it was a bad loss.

Michigan's defense sucks... we bailed them out with turnovers and the Crist injury. UMass probably doesn't hold on for the win here but the lesson to be taken is that this team is doomed to lose games in the Big Ten because their defense will get shredded by OSU, Iowa, Wisconsin, etc.

I wonder if Rich Rod goes 8-4 with losses to MSU and OSU if he still gets fired.

Wow two scores in under a minute to take a halftime lead at 21-17.

42-24... Indiana appears to be a toss up now, since they can roll up the points. 7-5 at best imo. With a loss to OSU I would say he might be out of a job.

If he goes 7-5, he's only improved 2 games every year. That's horrible coaching. I still think if goes 7-5 they keep him one more year. Thinking with Robinson they're improving which on defense is still suspect.

The kicker is they haven't even played a Big Ten game yet. If they finish ~.500 in conference with losses to their rivals... does he get fired? Does it depend on what other coaches are available?

I'm glad Michigan wins this. If they would have lost everybody would have talked about how bad ND must be. Michigan will start losing in a couple weeks.

Even though Michigan hangs on and wins... 37 points to UMass is pretty bad.

This was alot closer than I wanted this to be. I thought this would have been a two plus touchdown win by Michigan. Can't imagine the bad press We would have received if Michigan had lost this one to UMASS.

UCONN getting pounded by Temple, totally invalidates their 1st win as a "good" win. I'm much more worried about tonight's game now than 4 hours ago.

The other thing that this demonstrates [to me, anyway] is that there is no way that UM's defense would have stopped Crist if he had been in there the other quarter and a half. We would have probably won by ten points. THAT is a bit better way to think of the game, if you think Crist will be able to stay upright and on the field.

I seriously cannot wait until they play Ohio State. That game will be hilarious.

Absolutely agree, but still: it seems like even with a back-up quarterback we should have been able to generate more offense against a D this bad; I mean, Michigan just gave up 37 to UMASS!

We look really bad, right now.

Because we couldn't score points with a 3 star true freshman and Ju-Co transfer at QB? Seriously... we put up something like 350 yards and 24 points in a little over a half with our first string. I'm not that scared about our team.

What do you mean? I am sure UMass could put up over 30 points on half the high school teams in the country! LOL

Umass looked pretty crisp. Too bad they had that melt down at the end of the first half.

When you are Notre Dame everyone we play gears up and plays their best. Wevhave a bulls-eye on us all the time

And the Michigan game would have been totally different with Dayne in forth entire firstvhalf.

Go Irish!

The worst part of that is teams celebrating like they just won the NC in years when ND has been bad.
