As someone who had prostate cancer I feel for the guy, but to be honest I really wonder if this was announced to move the conversation away from his mental state while he was in office? Prostate cancer is one of the slowest growing cancers. He's had prostate cancer for a while. He and his doctors have to have known it. In general, it takes about 7-8 years before it metastasizes to the bone. Even if it's aggressive he's likely to have had it for a number of years. Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done once it gets to the bones.
