Okay I hate to admit but I was watching ESPN during last night's half time.

Did anyone else see them sucker May into picking ND as the one loss team to go to the Championship. They put up statistics of two teams (without revealing who the teams were) and told May to pick one. He choose the team with the better SOS which happened to be ND. The other team ended up being Arkansas. He really was at a loss for words (I thought).

They did the same to Lou but it was betwteen SC and UF. Lou picked UF.

Beautiful. You can argue whether ESPN likes ND or not, however, they sure as hell know it is better for ratings to keep ND involved.

You saw that coming. I was watching and I knew exactly what they were trying to do.

He is adamant that SC is going to kill Notre Dame next week. He's on the Trojan bandwagon.

Absolutely. May was even stalling and they said come on Mark don't try to figure out who the teams are.

He needs to pull a trojan over that pee brain so as to stop the spew from getting all over everyone.

Technically, they should. The talent levels from front to back of the rosters aren't even in the same stratosphere. But they weren't last year, either.

I'm hoping for another nailbiter personally.

And you're going to get one. I think Notre Dame can beat them if the game plan is similar to last year. Keep that offense off the field. I don't see the defense having an answer for Jarrett.

on sportscenter this morning they asked lou and mark who will most likely go to the national championship between UF and UND. Of course Lou said Notre Dame and Mark said Florida saying that the Irish will definitetly lose to USC

Wonder what he says when we beat Southern Cal?

In fact, I wonder what he says when michigan beats tOSU, LSU beats Arkansas, Arkansas beats UF and WVU beats Rutgers.

I assume he would say michigan should play Boise State and Troy Smith should win the Heisman.

That is what made his pick last night so beautiful. He would do anything not to pick ND. I know he is better ignored, but seeing him pick ND was just too good not to mention here.

I agree SVO, but I'm putting a ton of faith into one thing, the QB differencial. I'll take a sr. all american over Booty any day. Wait that sounds sort of gay. I'll take Quinn over booty any day. wait that sounds gay too. I'll take Quinn over john david booty, yaw'll...

I think this will be the defining moment in Quinn's career, one where he really hasn't had that unreal signature win. He's had some nice wins but none that I would catergorize as signature.

Well, Quinn and CW both could defiantely use a "defining moment win". It would defiantely be a boost to ND and maybe get some of the naysayers off ND's ass. However, I'm not overly confident about next weeks game. ND is going to have to do something they haven't done all year, in my opinion, and that is play a complete game, 4 quarters, 60 minutes of football.

If I hear an espn analyst say (and laughing while saying it) ND is playing for the Commander in Chiefs cup - I am going to throw up. Do they ever bash O$U for Northern Ill or Bowling Green? No - Big 12 teams schedluling 1AA teams No - Majority of Big 10 teams opening with 2 MAC teams every year - noooo, But ND Schedules Navy, Air Force and Army and ESPN makes fun of it. It is so one sided

The fact that any analyst would laugh at the service academies is insulting.

what's bad is that ESPN knows the history there... and still use that to breed ND hate to get ratings.. remember when ESPN just reported sports news and didn't create it???

May is a joke.

May is a joke.

ESPN commentator Mark May said, during the West Virginia football game against Virginia Tech, that Mountaineer fans were throwing pennies at the opposing players "because they couldn't afford nickels."

Following his tenure with the Redskins, May played for the San Diego Chargers (1991) and Phoenix Cardinals (1992-93) During the a post shower, May suffered a nasty fall which forced his early retirement in 1993.

What a fool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brady Knows Mark May

Brady Knows Mark May

Question:The clips that you said coach showed you from the media, what was said in those?

Brady Quinn: Basically it was just game day. Mark May is a huge Notre Dame fan, not sure if you knew that (laughter). He was apparently trying to get Coach Holtz to jump on the bandwagon, offered him a ticket. Lou understanding Notre Dame, the mystique, the tradition, I think may have some sort of intuition about what may happen

This was from today's interviews, I thought it was quites amusing. Also it was reported on Sunday when they came into practice Coach Weis was wearing a USC hat and they were palying the USC fight song very loud.
