well Lea set the new floor for moving on from ND DC and thats as a Power 5 HC.

If Freeman gets any chances to interview for one of those I think hes foolish not to do it, doesnt mean he has to take it.

If it's to lateral move, even for more money to your alma mater, you arent thinking far enough ahead (like one more year lol)

38 sacks on defense. I’m not sure what the ND team record is, but that’s the highest of the Kelly or Weiss eras, with still 2 games to go (at least). Previous high was 34 in both 19 and 18. We are also winning the turnover battle 21-13. Another key stat is opponents are held to a 35% red zone Td percentage.

The defense sure has been fun to watch.

And (3) of those (13) came in the Cincy game, correct? Damn, eliminate any (2) of those (3) in he Cincy game and I believe the Irish would be going for it's second 12-0 season in a row against Stanford! Damn (again) ... woulda, coulda, shoulda!

I wouldn't think ISU would be a good fit for Freeman on what he wants to do. It's hard as hell to recruit to Iowa, let alone Iowa State. At cincy, you can recruit from a big pool of Ohio HS kids. Iowa HS is trending up, but not at a rate Freeman needs to remain the hot commodity. My opinion of course.

Infrastructure is there now thanks to Campbell. He's not walking into a rebuild situation like Virginia Tech would be, for example. He's also considered one of the best recruiters in the country right now. Their roster has a lot of Iowa, sure, but look at the FL, PA, OH and TX represented in addition to IL and a few GA.

My point is that there are more openings that are going to follow in the weeks ahead that are not open at this moment. Iowa State COULD be one of those. Cincinnati COULD be one of those. There are others that potentially come about as well.

I doubt he's going to Akron or LSU. There are other potential fits that could be coming down the line.

What are you basing this on?

I don't know enough about him to know what his ambitions are and what jobs he fancies. I would say that picking ND over LSU in hindsight was a no brainer. I'm sure he saw the cloud of shit surrounding that program with everything they had going on off the field. It wasn't as hard of a choice as most people thought.

I still contend that he will be back in 2022 but it would not surprise me at all if more dominoes fall in the weeks ahead and he is somewhere else. It's the nomadic nature of the profession. Guys move around.

I also trust that Brian Kelly is going to find a talented person to replace him if and when he does leave, so I'm not terribly worried about it in the end.

Just like athletic directors talk so do coaches. I would imagine that would of mouth wasn't really good for LSU.

Just goes to show how much of a complete failure it was on offense with Rees and Kelly. They were stubborn for way to long.

I still don't like seeing all the guys open in the passing game but they are drastically improved from the start of the season

I really hope he can recruit some of the studs into coming back. This group could be really special with another year under their belts.
