I formation: Hendricks, Nix, Truitt in that order. We really need a jumbo package, and with Hendricks in they will have to respect a pass, option play.

Line him up as a TE in Red Zone and run play action... Nice little over the top pass and Manti has his Senior Day going away present.

And then I wake up...

Don't I know it! Kona practiced with us one time last year. At one point he was running straight towards me...I got out of the way pretty quick!

I like the idea of going power I with Kona and Utupo leading the way for Manti off tackle on senior day. Or against USC. :cheeburga

Yeah, this is just what you want...... your outstanding, arguably the best linebacker in College Football, laying at the bottom of a pile at the goal line. I mean, no defensive player is going to be twisting on his knee or anything, are they?

He would tackle himself for a loss!

Could a play be designed for a pitch from the QB to picked off by a defender, Manti forces him to fumble, recovers the fumble and then manages to complete a TD pass to himself when the ball is tipped?

It would do wonders for his stats, his Heisman run and THT (Total Highlight Time) across the spectrum of the sporting world.

I posted this in another thread, but thought it was more appropriate here:

Musburger: And Dan, the Mantisman is back on the field, he's now playing offense!

Fouts: Last game of the year, Brent, can't hold anything back!

Has Manti carried the rock since High School? I get wanting to build his Heisman resume but you are taking the ball away from C-Dub, GA3, and Riddick and puttying it in the hands of a linebacker.

Manti has handled the rock on his four picks this season, and against Michigan and BYU he showed that he still has plenty of the RB moves left. I know, it's offensive players trying to tackle, but he had a cutback/juke against Michigan (Sucks) during a return that was pretty awesome, and ran through a couple arm tackles on his BYU pick.

I thought earlier this year about Manti lining up at Fullback, and letting him lead the way at the goal line and handing it off to him as the first man through a few times, but I was only wishing. ND fans would form a posse going after BK if Teo blew out a knee on offense, and NDNation would probably legitimately hire a hitman.
