Cry me a flippin' river.

"Insightful or useful". If you didn't want to hear any funny responses, then maybe you should have inquired about Lubbock to Google, instead of the off-topics section of a Notre Dame message board.

Here is some insightful knowledge. Lubbock sucks.

Straight up fk'ing reps Wooly. Thank you!

Another positive is that Lubbock isn't El Paso.

110 Miles to Midland; 147 to Abilene, to which I am partial.

So work is moving me to Lubbock, Texas in a month or so. I have never been to the Lone Star state, let alone Lubbock. Anybody lived there/from there/spent a lot of time there? I'm going in blind.

I lived there and went to high school there until I left to go to ND. It isn't really THAT bad. There are a lot of hot chicks there. But it is not the prettiest city. I will just leave it at that.

Been there a few times. Gonna be honest, there's a mall and that's about it. It's not close to anything and I never found Tech to have the greatest student body... culture-wise.

But you can throw tortillas on the field, that's something!

You suck.

It's what you make of it. It's cool town, TTU being the main attraction (the football games are a blast). About 300k people.

Like someone else said, it's out in the middle of nowhere...but it's got jobs and great housing prices. And if you're into out doors stuff, the hunting and hiking is fantastic.

Plus you're only 5 hours from Dallas and Albuquerue....

Midland is close by right? thats been rated as a good place to live I believe. and then you have Odessa..

Oil and gas...absolutely. I got a buddy in Midland that lives like a f**king king out there. It's cheap and the jobs are good.

I have lots of family there. As mentioned, red dirt/sandstorms every late winter and early spring.

Beautiful girls. Easy to navigate the town. Great healthcare. Nice restaurants. Good university. You'll enjoy your time there.

Cost of living is very reasonable.

Oh and beautiful girls. Especially near the university strip.

If you're single, make sure to wear the jimmy. STD capital of Texas I believe. Beautiful girls.

Good times!

And yes, the women....But the whole state of Texas has the best looking women.

Did you just really pull out "plus it is only 5 hours from Dallas and Albuquerque".
