With limited scholarship opportunities left. Just for amusement let's say 3, who do you want filling these?

Since it says who do you want... I'd take Westerman, Clowney, and Huggins. I'll be happy if we get one of those three.

Realistically...Same as Irish2015

No way we take 3 more...

It will more likely be 2 (if we do not miss) an "all purpose" offensive player/RB (think Huggins and Amir) and another OL

Amir and Houshell are very realistic. The possibility of 25 in this class is there so I'll throw out one more, maybe a steal of either Niklas or Savon. The most important thing left in this class, is keeping it together.

Irish Man 3 NAILED it....we need to keep this class together. I would NOT be mad if we ink all of our committs we have now...and not add. Everyting else is icing

If they do get 25, who do they not offer 5th years to? Or is there another alternative? Do they offer Ruffer a scholarship (he deserves it!)?

Montana should lose his in my mind. He is obviously not a 5th year but he was handed a scholarship last year simply because we had an open one. He is not deserving of one in my opinion. Bullard leaving also opens one up.

Oh yeah, forgot about him. With the depth at QB this upcoming season, he may be a non scholarship player (or transfer?). Kelly was in a tough spot with no depth this year at QB so that's probably another reason he got one.

Montana does not need one. His parents can afford the education. Ruffer, Harrison Smith, gary gray, and maybe mike ragone will/should be back.

How about Dever & Nuss? Depth on the O-Line is always a good thing!

Anybody have any idea if Wenger's 6th year will get approved?

Dever and Nuss will be back. Wenger's situation is sketchy. It's not been decided yet I don't think. TT is a good one to talk to about that situation.

Do EE's count towards last years (2010) scholarships? How many EE will there be? I do think that Rufer needs a scholly.

Me, I think they limit the 5th years to 3, give one year to Ruffer and Montana. I think Wenger has the long road to go to get his sixth year from the NCAA, then there is the issue of whether ND lets him play, etc. . . .

Well here is my take. If we can get them, Huggins, Amir and Niklas. Hounsell, ONLY if we cannot get Niklas.

As for 5th year players. Gray, Harrison, Dever are LOCKS. Ragone is likely with Rudy moving to the NFL. Nuss would be next if the scholarship is available.

As for openings at scholarship, Montana can hand his right over to Ruffer. Thank you very much. I have also heard that Steve Paskorz is done playing due to medical. If true, he will end up on medical scholarship which opens another. Finally, most know that Bullard is transferring which opened another.

So, let's close it out solid. Go IRISH

Currently are at 85 schollies right now. I can see room for 1 more, 2 if its someone you cant turn away. That's about it now.

Also remember that signing day is in February and we have to hold on to these guys

In reading the Eligibility Chart on IrishSportsDaily, they are listing us at 86 as of today's commitments. They do also list Steve Paskorz, but I was pretty sure that he is done playing football due to injury.

So, we will have to start turning 5th year guys away beyond today.

Here are the MUST KEEPS:
Harrison Smith
Gary Gray
Taylor Dever

Here are the LIKELY TO KEEP:
Mike Ragone
Andrew Nuss

Here are those on the block:
Emeka Nwanko
Matt Romine

Let's see how it plays out.

David Ruffer?

Also I do not understand the consensus on a lot of the articles posted that have Nuss ahead of Romine on the chopping block. I understand he is more versatile playing both the guard and tackle, but when Dever was injured Martin was moved to RT and Romine played LT (very well might I add). If only one of the two is brought back as a 5th year, it is a toss up...

Romine and Nuss are close, but the staff seemed to rate Romine slightly higher. Maybe that changed by season's end, but I didn't here that. Had Zach Martin not been such a pleasant surprise, Romine was right there for starter's minutes. I believe that it would take an extremely top level recruit-of-need for Kelly to turn away Romine, but....
