Coach Kelly is a terrific coach; I have full faith in the man and I don't think I would trade him for anyone in the country. I think he gives Notre Dame the best chance to win championships of any coach I've watched in my lifetime as an Irish fan. But the "...it isn't even close!" is beyond absurd. Guys like Nick Saban, Les Miles, Urban Meyer, and others have a huge claim here. The entire idea of claiming that Brian Kelly is head and shoulders above the rest is silly.

I wonder if SEC fans band together because the rest of the country feels free to call Southerners hillbillies and mock them as idiots.

I can't stand the SEC bias either, but I can understand rooting for the other teams in your conference (save your arch-rivals). I root for the teams on our schedule, minus USC and Michigan, because our reputation is based, in some part, on their success.

I live in Alabama and I know for a fact most Alabama fans were rooting for Oregon, and that a ton of Auburn fans will be rooting for us if Alabama wins.
