Could somebody explain the process to me? I guess I don't understand why we wouldn't accept JUCO transfers. If they have proven that they can be successful in class in another environment, why wouldn't we give those student athletes an opportunity to continue improving themselves at ND? I'm not saying that we should just accept any student athlete; but I do wonder why it's not an option for some kids that have worked their butts off to become eligible.
We do send some of our student athlete who are struggling to Holy Cross for an opportunity to bring their grades up, right? What's the difference?
Also, I know a person who was turned down for admission to ND, but was accepted to the Air Force Academy. (not an athlete) A year later ND contacted him to see if he wanted to transfer. I'm aware that the AFA is not a junior college, but why would he have the opportunity to transfer to ND if athletes aren't given the chance?
Can anyone provide some insight as to why we don't accept JUCOs?
