it was 20-17 at the half. They got the ball back first drove down the field and missed fg. we got it back, fumbled, and gave Michigan the ball back in the redzone. Michigan scored and made it 24-20

Gray fumbled inside the 10 minute mark of the 3rd Q.

Approximately 20 minutes later at 5:13 mark of the 4th Q ND scored a TD taking the lead after the fumble at ND 34 - UM 31.

In the remaining 5 minutes of the game, they scored retaking the lead and winning the game. We couldn't stop them when it mattered most.

Agreed-we could not stop them when it mattered.

It's unfortunate that M had the officials (Luke's hold? Should have been a personal foul on M CB pushing Floyd down after the tackle, and Tate's "out of bounds" reversal)

I was impressed with the OLine

Not impressed with the D

I was impressed by Forcier-the kid is a stud....

And, back on topic-I was impressed with Allen. No way would I replace Allen with Gray.

F*** Forcifuck.

ND fell apart. The refs caused it. F*** any hype on that b**** QB. F*** the big 10 refs. ND needs to do something about the officiating.

Those refs are lame.

Forcier is good, but he's not the phenom that the media is suddenly making him out to be. Hey Tate, play a real defense before you start talking smack.

That fumble was such a big momentum changer in the game. After that UM had the momentum and took control of the game for a while and it took ND a little bit to find themselves again. If ND could have sustained that drive and gotten a touchdown and put them up 10 that changes the game a whole lot. That being said I certainly would not bench Gray for one mistake. You have to show that you still have trust in your players otherwise they will go out there thinking about not making a mistake and they probably will. He is a good player that deserves another chance.

When it is the fourth quarter and we are up by 20+ I will give him the ball again. IF he is a good blocking TB he can come in and play anytime.

I personally think that BS over turn call for Allen screen pass touchdown was the begining to the end. People who review those plays have a cop out. If they're not sure send it back to the field and weather Allen foot was in or out is debatable. When it's debatable it's not conclusive so it should of been sent back down to the field. Next to Grimes over turn touchdown catch against Stanford, this has to be the second wrost call. I'm begining to think that refs shave points..

Let's not blame the refs for this loss. Sam young is supposed to be our best o-line player and was getting handled by smaller, inferior d-linemen. How many holding calls did he have? Also, i understand that noise is an issue but come on, how many wasted timeouts and delay of games do we take before we realize how to manage the pressure? This is supposed to be a veteran group, lets handle ourselves like we've been here before. As well as the coaching staff. The defense did not get good pressure on the Qb. I think, by looking at it that tenutas scheme was not good at all. Where was the confusing pressure? Where was the different blitzs? How many times will we get thrashed up the middle before we blitz in the middle? Why did Manti get pulled out for such an extended period of time, toryan smith just accepted so many blocks, it was ridiculous. I also don't understand why hafis williams isn't getting in the rotation, especially when ethan and ian both are winded. On offense we looked good except two things: penalties and weis' late playcalling faults. Everyone in the world knows that we should have ran the ball, even if they load the box to force them to use their timeouts, that was a major letdown on weis. I'm not calling for his head though. Also, since this is a thread about allen and gray, allen looks like a stud, and gray made one mistake that did turn out to be deadly. He still should not be benched for one mistake. All that and i still feel like ND is really good and can make huge strides this year and learn from this loss. We dominated on offense. Michigan made the big plays when it mattered. They will be pretty good this year. Let's take it out on Mich. St. next week and get the bus rollin again. By the way clausen looks great.

P.S. Sorry for the paragraph. lol

Good observation. That was one of the prettiest cacthes I have ever seen. The commonality between them was home field advantage and conference officials (PAC 10 and Big 10). That's F'd up. The Grimes catch didn't cost us the game the Allen screw job defintely contributed to it.

Good post and well thought out. Alot of us are letting our disappointment get the best of us. We will almost surely lose to USC giving us 2 losses minimum. Anything more than that will be a tough pill to swallow although I want to make sure we compete in every game (no blowouts like the last 2 years). Unless we have another grade A coach in our back pocket CW will need to stay even with 3 losses.

After the Allen screen pass did you hear how slient that stadium went. That was a big momentum chager. If the play stand as called that probably would of change the out come. It was a beautifully called play at the right time..

Great play and looked like Asaph Scwhwapp could have followed the line down the field on that one. My only parting comment is that AA didn't need to cut it so close to the sideline. He had plenty of room and balance to keep it in a foot from the sidelines. Unfortunately it is behind us but if we can learn something from this we should have a productive season. Even jerfoff Mark May has to admit their was something good to see in our offense.

lol. Using the inadequacy of our own team to downplay the performance of an opposing player. I love it. Only at ND.

HAHA. Michigan won the game. This is starting to sound like that Fuck Michigan thread where we had guys posting how stupid and unrealistic Michigan fans are and how they never give our team any credit. Forcier made plays to win the game. His TD run on 4th and 3 was all him. We made the correct call on defense and Fleming was right on him and he juked the shit out of him.
