Its nowhere's near 7. Craig is the only OLM who started vs TA&M who is definitely out. Spindler is questionable.

Mills, Bothelo and Craig are the only starters for the first game out. jagusah has never played a down in our 12 wins. Troare was never a starter either, he played behind Bothelo.

The woe is me shit is really getting out of hand here.
I was including Craig, Jagusah, Spindler, Mills, Traore and Botelho (and mistakenly Morrison as a starter but not OL/DL) in my mind. I realize Traore wasn’t a starter but a key piece. You could also throw Onye into the mix. No woe is me here big fella but optimistic the other fellas can continue to step up. Is KVA still out indefinitely? I didn’t catch any updates on him.

KVA and Spindler are listed as questionable. However, previous players listed as questionable did not play.

Thanks and I figured it would be a stretch if either played, especially seeing Spindler in street clothes in the second half of IU.

This game was going to be tough and this injury doesn’t help us. And our depth is getting deeeep.

Golden and Washington are gonna need to get creative with their substitutions so that one of Rubio and Cross are on the field at the same time. Can’t have two with little experience playing at the same time.

I bet Urlacher gets a lot more playing time this game.... he HAS to. Kid has a 'nose' for the football.

Boys it sucks but OSU won a Natty with a 3rd string QB. Our boys have been stepping up all year. Look at Leonard Moore, nobody thought he’d be our best CB after Morrison went out. I have faith. Next man up. These back up DTs have been going against our line in practice so they’ll be ready. Trust MMFF and Golden to have them ready.

Mills going down is bad.

After watching what Georgia did to the Texas offense both times they played I’m having a hard time seeing ND doing enough consistently on offense to win this one.

Of the three, I don’t see how Spindler can even remotely play. Never heard of a guy being injured bad enough that he’s in street clothes on the sideline and then coming back to play the next week.
Probably a head injury. There is more than a week for recovery and possible that he could play.

I mean, anything is possible. The defense has been great but having Mills unavailable and Cross coming back from an injury seems like a bit much. If those two were 100% I’d be much more optimistic.

No doubt.... I'm optimistic because well.... I'm almost 60. Me and @Old Man Mike are a bit 'long in the tooth' and I'm sure he still believes as I do that Defense can still win championships... I know the game has flipped, don't get me wrong. But, if the Irish D can keep up their play as they have and get a turnover or two.....

I believe the Irish have the best overall D in the current playoff bracket standings.

Agree 7 of 9 a silly number, but Jagusah would start if he was healthy and Traore was trending toward being better than Botelho, at least at pass rushing. Who started Game 1 is not necessarily who starts Game 14.
I think it was trending towards a situation where if both were healthy, Botelho and Traore would likely have been manning both edges. At that point, Oben was totally ineffective and Burnham was still out/getting back into it.

Time to unleash RL. Just let the guy go out there and make plays. His improvisation is his best trait. I have a feeling he'll need to win this one late in the game.

You’ve got to think with Georgia’s backup QB playing and the unfortunate news regarding Mills that Georgia won’t press it and will play conservatively. Meaning, I’d suspect Frazier and Etienne will get a shit ton of carries. Georgia will likely treat this as the SEC Championship game against Texas and will try and blast it right at Notre Dame.

Thankfully, Notre Dame’s secondary can realistically play man on Georgia’s receivers all game. Does that free it up and afford Golden with the opportunity to just have his front 7 “go all out” against their running game? I’d think the defensive line will need all the help it can get with their running game….Bowen, Kiser, Ausberry, Sneed need to strap it up.

Third level run fits have been terrific most of the season. We are going to need to tackle expectionally well to win. I wonder if Golden will go to some Quarters concepts to allow the Safeties to trigger into the box quicker.

We’re going to man up their receivers and shoot gaps and Rubio is going to ball out (big chance for a paycheck!)
That's what I'm thinking. Might need to load the box with safeties/LBs and hope the remaining DL can eat up blocks while the LBs/S go after Etienne and their QB.

Just found this retweeted by his mom. I think his dad said something like he would be available for the game too:

If KVA is able to practice then I’m sure we will see him at what capacity who knows maybe 20 snaps?

LB play will have to be stellar to make up for absence of Rylie. They’ve been great all year. Have faith. Adding KVA to the mix is great news, hope it happens

I think our head coach is on the cusp of greatness. If he wins this game, he’s gonna be considered one of the best in the country heading into next season. If he loses a close game, he’s still going to be high on that list. One thing he’s done is gotten better every year. Record has improved every year. He’s not complacent. He’s hungry. Throw all the liability aspects out the window. We know the guys likable and he’s a perfect fit for the university, but he’s proving to be a great coach as well.

I feel like this board is trying to lower expectations and starting to accept a loss.

Fuck that! We will deal with that IF it happens! Have faith in our boys! We have the best coaching staff in America and they have this team peaking at the right time!

Go Irish! ☘️
