And all reality, it could just prove how bad Weis was. That he did way more damage to the program/players than we realized and it just takes that long for Kelly to bring it back to speed.

Well most of the problems have gone away. And many more will go away with a little more time. What I'm speaking of in particular are the 4th down calls and the call to go for a TD at the end of the half against Michigan.

Granted if they had worked Kelly would be a freaking genius, but they didn't. And they didn't under Weis either. That's why I get the sick feeling.

It's funny that when you look through the ND Coaches phone directory, that number belongs to about 100 guys. 99% of whom are no longer with the school.

But if I dialed that number I would hope Michael Haywood would answer. Because I need to ask that guy for a couple years of my fanhood back.

Michigan halftime was the right call if Crist is an unknown. Can't plan on offense getting that many good looks at six and Michigan starts the half with the ball. Hindsight is so much easier.

Punt from the 42 with a high probability of net 22 yards versus a 4th and 2. Again, a lot more subjective than you suggest. Some coaches may argue you rarely punt inside the 50.
